Next Mod??

Hi all,
I've been thinking of what to do for my next mod. I want to do it within the next couple of weeks. I've been thinking about a Bamachip, but $325 is a bit much to drop right now. I could do it, but dont really want to eat Ramen noodles for the next couple of weeks. I really want it now though. Now, I was thinking about a black billet grill with a Taurus emblem or amp for my speakers (although I dont care about sound system too much). Wheels and tires are coming this summer... I also want to do the Explorer OHC but cant really install it by myself. I dont trust me cutting up the headliner. So what should I do? I'm leaning towards the programmer, but I dont really know what to do quite yet... Any other ideas?

just save up for the chip

Strider0O0 04-18-2005 11:56 AM

yeah, save for the chip from doug.. noone's ever been disappointed by their chip, i think you'd be happy you saved up for it.

I just submitted my Bamachip tuner order. I cant wait! This is gotta be the best mod yet. How long does it normally take to get to ya? I'm going crazy over this one...

it depends if doug has the part in stock, then as soon as he gets time he'll do your programming and ship it out. could be a few days, could be a week. its worth the wait though, trust me

Eat ramen noodles and get the chip
You will be happy (seeing thats what you really want)
+ ramen noodles are really good.

i dont have one but everyone seems to get around 3-4 mpg better with the chip/programmer

TorRedRangerFX4 05-26-2005 12:38 AM

yea from what i hear the chip is well worth it, after new tires go on my truck i think thats what im going to buy.

Roach2004 05-26-2005 09:32 AM

Trust me on this one you want the programmer. I got it about 6 months ago and everyday I say man I love my proggramer. It made it like a completely diffrent truck. Doug at Bamachips makes wonders with those things. I use the 93 Octane setting and get alittle better gas mileage but drive so much I dont keep track of it. :burnout:

zabeard 05-26-2005 10:18 AM

:stupid:

i agree its worth every penny :)

loneFX4 05-26-2005 04:04 PM

so are these things custom tuned specifically to your application or are you buying one for your engine size ranger in general?

RescueRangerFX4 05-26-2005 04:17 PM

I wish I got one !! but I'm kinda waiting for the new progammer coming around from bamachip and it's X-caliberbater 2, I think!!! I'll wait it out for a bit and see what's the price of them!!

Pinecone 05-26-2005 04:20 PM

They are tuned for your engine, not a general tune like all the other chips out there.

I got about 17-18 mpg's with 33's in city with the 93 performance tune.
