OHC external speaker for cb
Now this one i know that i can do with out to much trouble. I wanted to know if anybody had any ideas on where to find a speaker that will fit in the garage door opener section of the ohc. I had a computer speaker in my room that i took apart, perfect width but the depth is off by about a quarter inch. Any ideas could help.

how about cutting a hole in the cover and let the speaker protrude through so it is not muffled behind the plastic? then glassing it up to get smooth lines?

hey both good ideas. Thanks for the link as well. The glassing ideas not bad, i do already have everything to do it. I was thinkin of cutting a hole where the button is and using the metal speaker mesh thing that was originally on the speaker to fill the hole. I just figured i could find a more compact speaker in something. Heres a pic of the ohc, the speaker will go in the front where button to open the garage door is.

I say cut out a opening for the speaker, you'd be able to hear it a lot better anyway. My CBs hella loud, where are you putting yours that you can't hear it?

its in the console that i made.

Ah thats right. Since you've had practice with glass I would smooth out the top to basically take out the door and then mold the speaker into the OHC. That would be super sick.
|
the only problem with that is the screws that hold the console to the bracket are in that compartment. If i find a speaker that will fit then i could just mold the speaker into the door and the compartment when then act as a box... kinda

Man I forgot about that. Oh well it was a cool idea in my head lol.
