I mentioned this in a previous thread but i want to get some opinions on this. i am building a winch bumper for my truck and on the sides were it starts to angle back i was going to cut out a door and hinge it and box in the back side of that part so i could have a little bit of storage. just for a chain and a hook or two. maybe a ****** block just in case but at the same time wouldnt make a lot of noise when i drive around? Here is a pick of what im wanting to build. i got the pick from a guy on here but its basically what im trying to go for.

 

it's a good idea, but there are some things you need to consider. such as the fact that the box inside of the bumper is going to effect the area your tire falls into. yes it will make noise but with some synthetic matting you can quiet it down a tad. one thing i saw for easy storage was a bed side box. one cool idea i saw was an ammo box notched into the front bumper. welded in they make a good chain box.
