Plastidip?
Wow there's sure are alot of people who are eager to **** up their trucks. Plasti-dip has no place in this world, it's a douchebag product meant for douchebag people. Sure it peels off but only if it's laid on thick, and it doesn't just come off in one big sheet. You WILL have issues getting it off any bolts, body seams, tight corners or areas of thin coverage. Not to mention this **** is RUBBER and picks up & retains a ****-ton of dirt. This **** isn't even suitable for wheels in my opinion, I have yet to see a set that looks good & it always flakes/chips over time.
I agree with Dewey, if you're gonna spray this **** do it over at FRF.

Plastidip needs to just go away...

Whoo! Dang, dude! I like your style.
If you're taking so much offense to that, maybe the internet isn't for you.
That's like being mad at somebody for eating a candy bar, because you're on a diet.
Get over yourselves.

I'll agree with you, he did go a bit overboard, but I don't believe he was calling you specifically a douche. I believe he was exaggerating the truth for comedic effect, hence my earlier quote.
Plastidip is stereotypically used by ricers. (cough) civics (cough). And, in such a fashion, rarely done correctly, only giving it bad rep. I don't like plastidip at all, but that's just my opinion.
By using the same logic, buying a protein powder marketed specifically towards professional wrestlers doesn't make you a professional wrestler. Buying plastidip doesn't automatically make you a douche.
The forum he mentioned just so happens to be where these types of people reside. But, in all seriousness though; don't go there. If you think he's mean, go over there and have someone tell you to get squashed by a semi for liking a particular product. Not even kidding.
But in the same breath, take it with a grain of salt. I've posted back and forth with strangerranger99, and I don't believe he intentionally meant to anger you.
No, none of us here like the product, but I believe we can all agree with each other to do with our trucks as we please. If you want to use it, go for it. Your truck and your money, not to mention your right to do so.
For example, I don't like LED lightbars. They work as product, but I don't like their shape. They, in my eyes, don't work with the existing style of a vehicle at all; but they do serve their purpose. If I see someone install one, I just keep scrolling. Doesn't bother me. Again, I'm sure the same is true for strangerranger99, except maybe for that scrolling part.
C'mon, we're not bad people. Some of us are just more outspoken than others.

I used Dupli-Color Custom Wrap on my wheel well fenders, which is basically the same thing as Plastidip. It still looks good after being on for over a year. Whenever I notice a scratch, I just give it a quick spray.
Yeah, me neither. Didn't know it existed until it popped up on the Today's Posts. But what can I say, I've been considering updating a thread that was started 12 years ago... so it will have the complete mod info (the accessory circuit mod).
I plan on painting my grill flat black. Does the Ford Badge come off? or do I have to tape it up? Id rather take it off when painting, and then reinstall. if not plasti dip, then what would you use? Rusoleum? Bedliner?

Yes your badge comes off, sometimes it has 3 pins protruding, just take your time, even pressure. Preparation is the key in painting anything. I don't think bedliner on any other part other than a bed is more durable. It will collect dirt due to how rough it is. Use a good quality paint, and prep it right (sand/clean/primer) for a durable long lasting finish.
Prep your grill properly by washing well with warm, soapy water. When it is dry, wipe it down with a good pre-cleaner... alcohol works well in a pinch. Then spray it evenly with Krylon Fusion Satin Black. Spray in 4 directions, each only a light coat, letting it tack off between coats. I did this to mine over 18 months ago and it still looks great. Holds up to a 2300psi pressure washer.
