I'm thinking of what would happen if I got in an accident. I'd rather not have that box flying everywhere haha

Ok so I'm counting this project as a FAIL lol. There's way too much stuff in the way under the truck to just bolt it down and I'm not wasting an entire day on doing so. Sooooo that being said anyone got ideas on how else I could secure it that won't look like crap? Right now I just set it on the jump seat and buckled it up lol

Ok so as tommy boy once said " I've....got....a....plan" lol

Gonna be alittle woodwork involved with this to make it look clean but I removed the jump seat behind the drivers seat. There's about an inch of space I will have to fill up to have the box sit level. Basically I could use the plastic piece right below where the seat used to be and everything would be relatively covered up. Anyways kind of brainstorming a bit on this one but seeing as i'd be doing some woodwork if I go this route it would be super easy just to cut a recessed spot for the box to sit in. Hmmmm also might be able to get a maglite mount right above it! Give me a bit and I'll get a pic up I think everyones going to like this location better because potentially I could actually gain space in the back

this was my originaly idea

now this!!! :) little more work but i'll gain space actually

actually have a friend that works at cartoys thats gonna help out a bit with some of the build basically at cost. basically build a platform with a recessed part the box will sit in. add some carpet and done deal!
i wont be using that plastic piece that was below the seat. i'll probably take the other seat out and have him build a box to fit in there while we're at it

and off topic but got my tow hooks bolted in today since it was too rainy to paint lol

for sure!

it's gonna be killer once i get everything done-figure i'll do a maglite mount right above it as well!

and i gain about 2" space in the back instead of taking up another foot lol

i'm alittle suprised nobody has commented on the SOG knife package lol. seriously best knives and multitools you can buy! my uncle who was in the marines brought them to my attention they are 10x better than leatherman multitools and the blades are wayyyyyy sharper and stay sharper than any gerber or kershaw!

ok i deserve a WIN!!!! thanks to my buddy that works at cartoys and his manager for opening the store up alittle early today and helping me build this utterly bad A$$ setup! took about an hor and a half not too bad for totally winging it! lol. and they helped quite a bit because i was kinda not so good with designing haha. under the "enclosure" theres two compartments. where i put my first aid kit and a space blanket(hey ya never know whats gonna happen right?)

and they only made me pay for materials! so this whole thing including the ammo box put me back a whopping $45 :)

to the pics!

takes up the same space the jumpseat did so WIN

and theres enough space behind the box for my magite-got some mounts today also so i'll get more pics up when thats done :)

and a rough design for the paint

im gonna use flat black and clearcoat everything but the design

so what's the verdict??
