To paint or not to paint? That is the question

Well have the next two days off and thought it would be the perfect time to paint my chrome grill black. Not sure if i will like it though. Whats everyone's thought on this? Maybe someone could kindly photo shop it for me?

I was thinking more along the lines of sand, primer, krylon fusion, clear coat. I don't really like the matte finish plasti dip has.

How do you remove the lower clips on the grill to remove the grill from the truck?

There's four screws on the top and then you should just be able to pull the clips out with a nice tug.

Yup it just pulls out after the screws.

Paint it. Paint the bumper while you're at it.

I did mine and I like it. Haven't done the bumper because I'm replacing it.

I think it looks good black as long as you tape it off and only paint the front part of the grill as shown:

Obviously Eric's truck chipped from wheeling and such.

Paint it for sure.

I for one do not believe you can paint over that chrome even if it is really well roughed up !

Not sure how to do it BUT after sanding, spray with DuPont Adhesion Promotor, then prime and paint; I never paint any plastic unless it has been sprayed with this stuff.

How much effort to get all of the chrome off ?

bumper too !

Thanks everyone! I don't think I'm going to paint the bumper because I'm looking for a painted 2001 bumper and my current bumper has a few dents and I'm not very comfortable painting chrome. I'm going to paint the lower valence black as well to match the grill.

If you're curious to see the final product, post a hires pic and I'll shop it for you. Just say what bumper you want.
