Niteshading a lightbulb
How's this for an idea... I Niteshaded my tails a little while ago and I have the Anzo Crystal Blacks in the front, but I was looking at the front marker/running lights and was thinking about what they would look like with dark bulbs.
I'm not a fan of the amber lights in the housing the headlights are, so I've been using clear 3157s in place of the amber 3157s. White and amber blinkers are legal where I am, so legality isn't a big issue.
I want something darker in the headlight housings, and I glanced at a half full can of Niteshade I still have and thought about what wouldn't work about it.
Two problems come to mind; Adhesion and temperature. I don't think the Niteshade with stick all that well, but if it does, what with the light bulb temp do to it?
Let me know what you guys think. It'll only cost a couple bucks to do it, but I don't want the Niteshade chipping off in the light housings or anything like that.

That's a sharp look, Nate. I came across those chrome amber lights on eBay a little while ago for 8 bucks. I think I might grab them.
I was also looking at the Sylvania Silverstars. They are amber, but with a blue chrome tint on them. They kinda have they look of heat treated chrome.
Here's a good comparison picture of the bulb finishes. All are amber when lit.

I was looking at the LED Switchbacks. I like the concept and all, but the fact they all come in a white plastic housing gives me the idea that they'll look cheap when installed. A $40 light shouldn't look cheap, lol. If someone has them installed, prove me wrong so I may consider :D
Mark, I'm liking the look of those Silverstars on your truck. Very sharp.
I'm so picky with such little details. I know all the choices I have will look great, but I can't decide what I wanna go with. How many people do you know that will stare at their blinker for 20 minute just trying to decide what kind of bulb they want lol

I've always used the chromed amber glass bulbs, and been very happy with them. I tried years ago tinting bulbs with paint, but anything over a 194 burned the paint up. I have no idea how much heat Nightshades can take, but it's worth a shot on one to start with. tint one, run it for a while, and see how it does.

I still like your idea of niteshading a set of bulbs. Try it out and make sure you post back your results and some pics.
