Tinting

I'm looking to tint my windows in the next few days. Not myself but profesionally. Looking to see some pics of all ya'lls tinted windows. Also mostly trying to decide if i should tint my windshield to the as-1 line. so if ya'll got pics of all that it'd be much appreciated.

It's illegal to tint all of your windshield. You can legally do 6" form the top and 6" from the bottom.

On the cab it is whatever is darkest legal in FL. You can look it up on google or ask a FL member. I don't remember the percentage.

Below is what FL's law states so, I'd imagine this is what I have:

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

Front Side Windows Must allow more than 28% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 15% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 15% of light in.

This is what GA law states(so I'm illegal in GA):

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 32% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 32% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 32% of light in

I've got 15% all around and find it to be too light, go for 5% if you can.

Dam california's law is so unfair! 70% of visible light must be allowed in on driver and passenger side windows!

i might be getting mine done tomorow, i might go for a 50% up front, leave the stock in the back and extra cab, and nothing on the windsheild.

is 50% too light?? i dont want to get caught in my car by angry parents of girls!

Double 5 on the rear, 28% on the sides.

Thinking about doing 35 or 40 on the front with a 5% AS1

They can only test the side windows on our trucks and most cops arent going to send you down to a tint shop to prove your rear windows. Most cops dont care. In fact, most cops dont even have testing equipment. FHP does, though. But most FHP cops that I've encountered are cool if you are respectful and pull over the correct way (well off of traffic, both windows down unless you have manual windows, dome light on if its dark, engine off).

If you want dark and dont want to risk the tickets, find a "good" eye doctor, tell him the sun bothers your eyes and lights bother you at night, and ask him to write you a Rx for windsheild tint and darker side tint. Most will write you a 20% script no problem and some will do a 5%.

I've heard of people doing this but I only know of one person who actually went through the trouble.

go 20 at least, living in so cal maybe you could make up some sort of business card and say you transport celebrities from time to time and thats the reason for the tint

youll laugh, in california my friends grandfather has one of those notes legitimate cause of skin cancer, guy is 83 years old, last year chp gives him a ticket anyways cause the law here actually says that the material must be "transparent and removable" ... i think he went to court and got it dismissed though.

anyways as someone who has gotten too many speeding tickets, i use my radar now as a supplement and will rarely be seen doing more than 5 over.

If you want dark,do privacy 5% on your back window and ext cab windows and to stay legal, 25% on the front doors.

However, you shouldnt have to worry about the laws, because whenever I go to the tint shop and go to get my windows done, the person at the shop always tells me what the legal limit is and recommends me what to go with, unless I want something specifically done and then they tell me that they will do it,but it's at my own risk for getting tickets and they are not liable, because they told me the laws and limits.

Oh yeah, most tint laws only concern the front side windows and windshield. Almost everywhere I know of, you are allowed to go as dark as you want on the rear side and rear facing windows. As long as the driver is "clearly visible" through the windshield and front side windows, you are "legal". I know of some jurisdictions where you can tint the rear windows and front passenger side window, but not the driver's window.

Not Rangers, but this is tint on some of my previous vehicles.

On my Cadillac, this is 25% on the front doors, and 20% on the rear doors and rear window.

I think this was 25% all around. It wasn't as dark as the photo makes it look.

Ohio laws. Any window besides windshield and front side windows can have any darkness on it. Currently front side windows can only have 50% (which is worthless) because of a somewhat recent shooting case where an officer got shot through a window with dark tint.

This is what a local tint shop told me. I'm looking at the Ohio Revised Code now.

I plan on going 10%-15% on the front side windows of the truck, 5% on all the other windows(excluding windshield of course).

Same on the SVT, except 15% on the front side windows for sure
