I'm thinking of chroming the rubber piece under the door windows. What i mean by chroming is covering them with that chrome tape stuff....I can get this done pretty cheap, but wanted to know what you guys thought about it.

That is just a rubber coating on top of metal. You can sand it off, polish it, then clear coat it. Someone did it on here or rps I cant remember.

yea just pop them off the doors and then sand the rubber coating off and then it will be an aluminum finish and clear it, or you can then paint it the color of your choice....good luck and hope it turns out well

you can sand with high grit paper, wet sand, and then polish with some aluminum polish or other polishing compound.

Didn't know it was aluminum underneath. Thats the way to do it for sure. You can pick these up at wrecking yards for $5-$10 so there is little risk in trying it.
