What you think??

I was thinking about when it comes time to do an exhaust, im going to go magnaflows.. But as i was browsing around, I thought, you know, what if someone put a Y pipe in the place of the stock muffler, then ran 2 4" round magnaflows on each side, then have piping go out the back.. Would it fit ok??? And most importantly how would it perform/sound??? Either way im going to have some type of magnaflow installed on my truck soon, but just wondering how that particular set up would be..Anyone do this setup before? How did you like it?

you can do it but in all honesty you will be wasting money. if you go with 4" mufflers its really over kill. I am not sure what motor you are running but even with the 4.0 2.5" is plenty and you can do a single in dual out magnaflow muffler with some nice tips coming out the back and be much happier. I had a magnaflo on a 3.0 it was on an aerostar cargo van but the same drive train. I ran a 2.5 single in and out to a single tail pipe and nice tip and got a nice sound and better performance over stock. even picked up 2 mpg. Yeah maybe wierd having that on an aerostar but I had it pretty well set up for work and it wanted to be a little different. I will have to find pics. any who. go with the SI DO magnaflow and you will be happy.

From what I was told it will do more damage than good on our trucks. Lose more hp and torque. Great avatar by the way LOL

Could always toss in a tuner chip and some bolt-ons.

usually a tuner will get you around 20hp and 17ish torque, but they allow you to set up where you want the HP/Torque IE low end or high end.

On this truck I have a SI/DO Flowmaster 40. Previous Ranger I had 2 SI/SO Flowmaster 40's. Granted it was the 3.0 but it sounded good to me.

Yeah it was a true dual setup. No H pipe. He cut the pipes were they came together by the cross member and welded 2 single pipes to the mufflers.
