I use Mobil 1 on almost everything. However i've been reading that WalMarts synthetic is high quality too and the price is about half. Thinking of changing over some of my fleet to see how it works out. I don't use it for extended change intervals, just follow the 5K change schedule I've always followed.

I use Amsoil 5w30 on my truck and have since I bought the truck. I use Amsoil on my bike and have never had any problems with either. I haven't used any of them on my rear diff or tranny. I'll probably be doing that soon since it hasn't been done lately.

Bob Ayers notwithstanding, I'm very happy with Amsoil. I do one year (about 20K mile) oil changes and I was VERY happy with the internal condition of my transmission at 90K miles when I took it apart.

I'm sold on synthetics.
If Scamsoil worked well in your tranny, why would you take it apart at 90K miles? I've got over 150K miles on my tranny, and all I run in it is the recommended Mercon V!!

depends on the vehicle application, john has an auto tranny.

forget the motorcraft fluid, i'm replacing a manual tranny @62k miles after a motorcraft fluid change by a ford dealer @ 58k miles

So I get the whole high end motor oil thing. I mean I use Mobil 1 in my cobra. But guys Valv has been around forever helpin the everyday guy. Plus Autozone always has 5 qts and a filter for like 13$. Always use Motorcraft filter though. On another note.

LUCAS every oil change. I have used a bottle every 5000 miles.
Royal Purple in everything else.

Changing the oil pressure guage to read correctly seems cool but seems like it would be too confusing for me to do.

im using regular pennzoil oil, and i have been wanting to switch to synthetic oil, but i have heard that you first need to use Synthetic Blend oil and then change to Synthetic. is this true cause if its not than the people in advanced auto parts dont know ****.
