Fram filters. Rotella T6 Full synthetic. 5w40 in the spring/summer/fall and then 0w30 in the winter. That's ~3 changes/year at 5000 miles. My engine (01 b3000) has 250k miles and has never had any internal work.

It may be marketed as "diesel/ tractor" oil, but it meets or in this case exceeds the specification Ford has published for oiling this engine. The additives do nice things. I'm getting 25Mpg combined running it.

i know , it is a damn good engine oil even if it is marketed for diesel engines

i ran diesel engine oil in 2 of my old jeep cj7 straight 6 engines , the engines ran cooler and stronger than with regular engine oil

just do not use it in brand new engines , also not to be used in gasoline engines in colder temperature areas

400k km/ 250k Miles...I'm pretty sure I'm fine.
My bro runs it in all 3 of his vehicles - F350 w/ powerstroke, Porsche 969 and his handbuilt Formula racing motorbike. When he oils his fleet, it's by the 5 gallon pail.

I've been using Castrol GTX 5W-30, 195,000+ miles now. I'll be switching over to Rotella T6 5W-40 at 200k miles.

Very pleased with the results of valvoline max life 5w30.

I used to use Shell from Costco because it was cheap but ended up normally going through a quart after 4k miles.

Now using max life I pull nearly 4 quarts of oil out... I'm pleased with using this oil. Use it in all our vehicles now other than the Merc and STi.
