What type of oil do you use?

This has probably been disscussed before, but I was chatting with a friend and e started talking about different types of oil and what we each use.
Right now im useing motorcraft 5w20 premiem synthetic blend oil, and he mentioned the valvoline max life oil for engines with 75k+ miles.
Im reaching the 75k mark soon, have a little over 71k now, so im curious, for my next oil change, should i stay with Motorcraft, think about useing the Valvoline max life, or what do you use/recomend?

I'm going to use whatever synthetic oil isn't price-gouged for nothing other than a name. NAPA has their own branded fully synthetic oil for example that is probably a $10 cheaper per oil change at least vs Mobil One. And guess what, it does the same damn thing.

I also go no less than 6,000 miles between oil changes, usually more. The days of requiring 3,000 mile changes are long past us but for some reason, people still do it.

If your engine is not leaking oil do not use the max life.

75k+ is a load of crap IMHO

All they do is add some seal expanding chemicals. Then mark it up a bit more more. not worth the cash.

Im using the M1 with a 15k change interval.

Stay with the Synthetic blend. Might consider using 5w 30 though.

Little bit of transmission fluid will do the same thing. I use Maxlife all the time in my Cadillac and it actually does lubricate better. First oil change I did I used Castrol GTX 10w 40. After 500 miles or so I started to notice some valvetrain noise. So the next time I changed it I used Maxlife 10w - 40. Valvetrain noise went away immediately, and stayed away. I also started using K&N oil filters. Expensive, but my oil is not nearly as dark after 3000 miles now as it was when I was using Fram extra guard filters. Which lead me to the conclusion that Fram sucks eggs.

Whatever is cheap in the Roady and the truck, and Valvoline Maxx life in the Caddy. That stuff works wonders, the Caddy doesn't leak or use a Drop any more. Before that is was a Quart a month. I only change the oil twice a Year, Spring and Fall (I put anout 1000 a year on the caddy).

I use motor oil usually, cooking oil when I run out of motor oil. I usually grab a mid grade oil when I do it myself andwhatever the auto place puts in when I have it done.

Amsoil Series 2000, 0W30 full synthetic -- the "best" in my opinion.

I change my oil once a year, around 19,000 miles on average. I use 3 filters total (one in at the change, and another every 6 to 7 thousand miles) and and additional quart or so during that time for "top off" after the filter change.

I use Amsoil eA series oil and air filters also. Microfiber is wonderful stuff.

I use Castrol 5W20 Full Synthetic from Wally World with the Motorcraft Filter. Change it 5,000 to 6,000 miles. Oil only cost $21.00 for 5 quartes ands the filter is $3 to $4.
