freddie 08-25-2009 07:51 AM

Yeah, I was just making sure.. Sorry, wasn't trying to threadjack..

kyledm18 08-26-2009 04:56 PM

around here the last time i looked a leel 2 rear was going for 750, that was a year ago, what u think it would be worth?

Fx4wannabe01 08-26-2009 05:01 PM

I bought two LII axles....one was an '05 w/ 38k on it an I nabbed it for $150. The other was a '02 w/ approx 98k and got it for $100...

BUT....all mine were right place, right time sorta deals. If someone was really after a Fx4 31 spline, Your price seems resonable and seems normal for what some yards want out of their axles. Good luck.

Downey 08-26-2009 05:13 PM

yeah i got my exploder axle for 50 bucks like hell i would spend 600 on an axle that needs fixed

04blackedge 08-26-2009 05:17 PM

300-400 is more reasonable IMO

But explorers are dime a dozen.... Ranger 31spline is essencially a Bronco/F150 axle that's been shortened to Ranger width.

Please keep comments about the price to yourself...I know I sorta started it, but he did ask for opinions, but I also said it's reasonable considering the prices some yards want for their axles. And I'm definately not talking pick-n-pull yards here folks. Plus most yards don't know what they have....they just look at the axle tag or the door sticker, throw it in inventory, they don't know if it's 28spline or 31 because those numbers they get off the truck don't tell them which one it is. Their computers don't tell them that either.

kyledm18 08-28-2009 05:38 PM

i looked into it a bit ill let it go for 450

I agree. I think you could get aftermarket 31 spline axles and a differential for less than the original asking price.

tmsoko 08-29-2009 06:25 PM

Keep in mind guys, the FX4 Level II axle is a unique larger diamerter housing as well. Not just 31 spline axles and a Torsen LSD thrown in a standard ranger housing. This has the F150 size tubes and big bearings. In my opinion, his original asking price was very reasonable, considering a Torsion will cost you $400 plus and the rest of the assembly is strong as hell! At $450 it is a steal. If I didn't already have 3 of them, I would pick this one up too!

Mykhael 08-29-2009 06:29 PM

450 still seems expensive for a axle that will still need 100 dollars thrown into it

the explorer axles are bigger diameter and bigger bearings too just so you know. and idk if the explorers ever came with a torsion limited slip

Scrambler82 08-30-2009 02:32 AM

Offer made for $250 / picked up in NH

Let me know !

tmsoko 08-30-2009 08:00 AM

Explorer is larger bearing, but also not a bolt in. Slightly wider and needs spring pads welded on top. Explorers either had open or traction lock. No Torsen - that was only ever offered in the FX4 Level II.

Toreador4x4 08-30-2009 09:04 AM

I have a 31 spline torsen and i really like it, i practically stole mine with 14k miles on it. but anyone looking for 4:10s should get this and fix it

Not trying to be a pain but money is tight all around and this axle does need work.
I’m willing to pickup.
Any thoughts on the pricing ?

Thanks,
Happy Holidays
