what do you mean by hub centric? please inform me, when it comes to these things im clueless but mechanically im great haha :)

 

Hubcentric seat flush to the wheel hub, and center themselves with the hub. I wanna run a set but since I am using stock wheels, I need lug centric. They use the lugs to center themselves.

 

Someone else may be able to explain it better but my understanding of hub centric is a wheel that is centered or located on the hub by a center hole -as opposed to lug centered wheels that are located by the position of the lug nuts alone.

 

so if im running my stock 4x4 rims i would need lug centric spacers? and would they fit around my manual lockouts?

 

I'm only going from what I heard about what I needed. So I'm guessing stock you would need lug centric spacers. As for clearing the locking hubs, measure yours and send the measurements to the manufacturer.
These are the guys I was told had lug centric spacers and its the company I put on my wish list for Xmas. Keep in mind, I don't have locking hubs, my truck is newer and they are only going on the rear to get rid of the "bulldog" look.

Simply put, hub centric spacers have the center bore that fits the hub perfectly, and also have a protrusion from the front of the spacer with the same outter diameter of the hub, so the wheels fit around it just like they would on the factory hub. You can use these with factory rims. Your factory rims fit your hubs now. Just because your lugs have a conical seat doesn't mean the wheels aren't hub centric.

Many people run spacers that are not hub centric, but I prefer the hub centric because it takes stress off the lugs (when you're running lug centric, there are shearing (side-to-side) forces on the lugs, rather than just the binding force holding the wheel to the face of the hub.

I asked that in another thread and was told hub wouldnt fit my stock ones. Does it do this on both or just the front with turning of the front tires?
I'm pretty sure im getting lug ones for Christmas and it's too late to ask for hub if they work with stock aluminum rims.
