Exactly! Not to difficult of a project and very satisfying. Best thing I ever did to my truck no question about it.

Made some progress today, my bearing on the drivers side was going out again so i decided it was time to change over to 4x4 knuckles and hub assembly. I got them off a 98 with the pvh style so i can put on locking hubs when i get a front axle. Special thanks to clayton (cchsbuzz19) for letting me have his old rotors....saved me some cash! I will post pics later....im going to bed

Underneath of the 03 must be cleaned up nice, not much in the way, how about a D44 Solid Axle Swap in stead of the Independent Suspension ?

yeah the transmission came out pretty easy nothing in the way, the only thing i removed was the crossmember, didnt even mess with the exhaust........id love to do a solid axle but i really dont have the means to do it right now, it would put my vehicle out of comission for a while too. hopefully down the road though

Maybe I missed it in the thread, it looks like you're going with the PVH hubs though?

Edit: Just read back and saw it, you got the AVMs yet?

No they're not, but the rotors are different sizes between certain years so when you get 4x4 rotors make sure they're the right size.

Like Razorsedge said, the caliper mounting brackets are the same....i guess i got lucky on the rotor size because it matched up well

You can't run your rotors on a 4wd knuckle anyhow....so you've gotta get the correct paired setup.

FYI: '03+ 4wd's take larger 12" rotors. '98-02 are the smaller 11.2" rotors.

Just a quick question, now i have heard multiple things and want to clear it up.....which axle(s) can i use with my PVH style hub assembly and manual locking hubs? Will an older explorer axle plug into this setup, or does it have to be from a 98-99 ranger? Thanks
