I got an 01 front axle and it works with my 99 setup with the manual hubs and everything. Just make sure you get cv's from a 98-00 ranger, I believe the 01+ cv's won't work with manual hubs.

98-00 CV's. Best bet is to ask for '98 CV's. '00 is an iffy year because some are PVH and some are Live.

Explorers(95-01/05) are all live axle so using those you're SOL.

And like what Mr. Clay said above, the axle themselves are all the same, just the CV's changed.

Thanks a lot, that helps out, i was just pricing out axles at local yards and wanted to see about going cheaper and getting explorer stuff, i think im going to do the ranger setup anyway since i wont have to pull it myself and save some time.

a little update.....ordered my 16x8 wheels(so the hubs can come through) and ordered my avm manual lock hubs. summit racing has really been slacking, seems like they have nothing in stock so ill have to wait a few more days. Probably going to get my axle from the jy tomorrow.....just havent had any time lately. Hopefully finishing up this drawn out process by the end of this week!

yeah i knew the rotors were different, mine have the bearing and hub with the rotors and 4x4 have the rotor seperate from the hub and bearings

A little update.....got the new front axle with 4.10 gears installed......and it was a little more difficult than i thought it would be. I probably should have just done it when i was putting in my new knuckles. My friend is welding in a bracket for the third bolt on the axle next weekend and then i will be able to throw in a driveshaft, the new locking hubs and my new wheels and tires.

There the 285-75-16s, i origionally didnt want the vstars but im really glad i ended up going witht them....it was clayton (cchsbuzz19) who suggested them and im glad he did.

Anywho....FINALLY an update, Got the front axle in, new upper and lower ball joints and one tie rod end, probably gonna do the other too since the rest of the front end is new. Manual locking hubs are in as well. I have to get my buddy to weld a bracket for the third front axle mount point and then ill throw in my expo front drive shaft. I just havent been able to coordinate days with anyone i know that has acccess to a welder. Its kinda funny having a twin stick with manual locking hubs being an 03. Onto the pics....

truck and the swap look awesome. i like the 2010 stickers, i have had the 2010 stickers on my bedsides (not the fx4 ones) but i love them

question? how did you set your front pinion angle before welding the bracket on? and also why a 13-50 case over a 54?

When we were pulling it of the b2 we thought it was a 1354 but after fighting it for an hour or so and finally getting it out of the Bronco we found out it was a 1350 and so he knew it would work and after fighting to get it out he just decided to buy it. Should work just fine.

Thanks man! yeah i have seen yours and they look great.....the square lettering looks awesome on the rangers imo.....like clayton said, we thought it was a 13-54 but it turned out to be a 1350, it works fine, just not as strong apparently....i might change it over after the winter if it fails on me. The bracket i have yet to be welded on, its killing me that i cant use the 4wd yet, im just waiting on a buddy with a welder to have a day off the same day as me since i dont have a welder.

make sure you set the pinion angle right on that axle or youll have crazy vibrations! i checked tylers again and again when we did his 4x4 swap before the bracket was welded in
