0RangerEdge2's 4x2 to 4x4 Swap Thread

As some of you know, I'm working toward swapping my truck over to 4 wheel drive.

It all started with a lucky find on Craigslist. Guy in the Detroit area is doing a solid axle swap so he chopped the entire front driveline out. $100 was a steal!

Just picked up a mint condition Borg Warner 13-50 manual shift transfer case for $100. I'll have to have Justin get pictures, as it is still at his place. Also picked up new CV shafts for $120. Rotors were put on a lathe and look brand new. AVM hubs are back ordered until the 27th, but they'll be on their way after that.

Tyler.....Justin....

One issue with the linkage....it's missing the 'pivot' on the shift lever. It's a plastic pieces that goes onto the piece thats bolted to the stud, then the long arm slides onto this plastic piece.

You can see the plastic piece in this pic(circled on my 1354)....

**OH.......shift arm that's connected to the stud inside the tcase....are different on the 02-03 L2's.....thats what that pic shows as well.

Yes Scott, I did get your part. Thanks a bunch!

Going from what Justin said today, the case might actually be a 13-54 instead of a 13-50.

So that's good, but I guess now I'll need different linkage. That's ok though.

Haha, soon enough Ryan. Soon enough. We are still trying to figure out if we can use the 5r55e but use the bellhousing off of a 5r44e.

I wish I had known. That sucks, but oh well. The ones I picked up with be alright I guess. $120 for the set once I turn in the cores.
