Hey Guys,
So I now own this... I'll start with a few pictures and let you ponder.

The possibilities are wide open.

(It used to be a Greyhound bus. There were only 1000 ever made. This one is 858 of 1000. The name of the bus is Scenicruiser and was made by GM. They also go by the model: PD4501. These buses were produced from 1954-1956. This one was produced near the end of the production line)
Seeing as the pictures are not showing up now, here is a link to my photobucket page: http://photobucket.com/1956Scenicruiser
Enjoy!

Thanks guys!
As far as the financial decision, it was a GREAT DEAL!!!
however, now it looks like i may need to spend another $1600 to have the clutch replaced in it. bought it from the previous owner and everything seemed to be great... drove about 25 miles from his house (After stopping and putting $80 of Diesel into the 160 Gallon tank) and the clutch went out on it. Started loosing speed, pulled to the side of the road, and even though i could get it into gear, the bus wouldn't move anywhere.
What can you expend from a 56 year-old vehicle?
Still gets 10MPG though!!!!!

It is too good!!!! Im really excited to get started on it. It will be a LONG project... both in length (40 foot long) and long in a lot of time spent working on it.
I did have to write out a contact for this one though, haha, the wife wants a vacation in turn for me getting the bus, and wants to make sure that she gets ample time with me... crazy, but she is very low maintenance, so I need to honor her requests when she does request. It is rare when she requests things of me. Love this woman!!! She is not really a gear head, but she somewhat understands my passions.
This is a crazy purchase, but for the price I go, I couldn't turn it down! If i did, this bus was going to the scrapper So instead, I saved it!!!
There are only about 200 of these buses left (1000 originally) and only about 20 are road worthy - Mine being 1 of the 20.... minus the clutch needing to be replaced
Thanks guys!!
I have some crazy plans in store for this! Fold down balcony from the passenger side, maybe some slide-outs, fold out balcony in the rear (above the engine) for the master bedroom, Slide out hot tub from a storage compartment.....
Hopefully it doesn't end up like my hot tub trailer idea - Although I now have a hot tub at home, so not a huge bummer. https://www.ranger-forums.com/showth...ot+tub+trailer

Yea ! You will need a CDL to drive any vehicle over 26,001 lbs a 4501 conversion will be over that when you get everything in it ! Also if you are planing to pull any trailer with it ! It will fall into CDL anyway with the combination vehicle over 26,001 lbs ! Start looking to get your CDL !
