Best part was I got both sides out the door for $19. I love when people don't know what a "Caliper Bracket" really is.

right??? was a pain pulling it though huh.. i started tearing into a stang rear end to get mine, broke the little bolt holding the center pin in and had to start over on another one. in like 108 degree weather. what a day. or were you lucky enough to find one with the shafts pulled?

Front end swap looks awesome!

Everyone's favorite **** box is back! its finally starting to cool down enough for me to justify living in the garage! its finally getting below 90 on the weekends.

When I got home from work Friday I started with this:

And ended at this:

Had to go get fish tacos and margs...busy week at work needed a reward!

New shiny parts to go on!

Waiting on my bearing/seal kit to come in and I need to order new clutches for the limited slip.

Quick question to anyone out there!
There's a little rust on my axle tone ring, can I sand it off and coat it in gear oil before I put it in? In other words, how 'accurate' is the axle sensor? If there's a couple thousandths off of the OD and width will it affect my speedometer?

Seems simple whough from the pictures I see on the internet, seems as if the hardest part is pulling out the s-spring.

Seal/bearing kit came in Saturday morning but I blacked out saturday night so i missed this weekend. Hopefully I can get more done tonight and tomorrow.

Well brosephs! time changed and its starting to get cold! in the 50's at the moment!

Chugging along and changing stuffs.

Got a nice inch pound torque wrench and some new limited slip clutches and discs for the rebuild. need to get a junk inner pinion bearing to use for setting up the gear pattern.

And grinding and cutting stuffs.

WHEN SUDDENLY!!!!

I notice a little oil stain on the ground....

Crawl under the truck and look at the oil on the bottom of the bell housing and think,
OH TURDS! Rear main seal is leaking!!!

But I trace the oil up the back of the engine to something not as bad...

Looks like a valve cover/lower intake manifold gasket is leaking.....Looks like I have a little project to tackle this weekend!

But hopefully I don't find anything else damaged. (knock on wood)

Hoping to keep this little puppy going for another year until I can finally make it my project instead of daily driver.

Need to get the rear end assembled and the bed cage finished because there seems to also be a small leak in my current 7.5 pinion seal.

I think I'm going to go ahead and change the Cam Synchronizer and PCV/tube while I'm in there.

That will hold me over till the 5.0 (knock on wood)

Hats off to the guy who decided to route the fuel line in the best place ever.

only thing that broke was the coil pack support.

looks like it rusted off some bolt or stud.......oh no......

Frick my stick...its the manifold stud and nut.

I think it was from the AC dripping on it constantly for 14 years.

Here's a look at the old synchro....had a couple thou axial float to it too.

So with the synchro....I was thinking about it all wrong. I thought the reference of the synchro outer to the block was crucial...not so, its the reference of the synchro body to the inner shaft. so when I noticed I was off by a tad, I simply twisted the body a bit so that the tong of the shaft was in the correct alignment with the body "window" where the sensor sits.

started on the two down tubed and got them tacked to the subframe.

have to get the top tubes in then work on the rear pieces. in my head it should hold for a shock carrier.

for some reason at first glance id want you to put some sort of radius crossbar between them towards the back of the bed but it looks pretty solid as is. run it till it breaks and repeat! haha

keeping it like this until its time to run without the bed. Then ill build a proper rear cage to tie into a cab cage when its time. This is all still bolt-on stuff.

sold the 8.8 because there was no point in putting a ranger width axle in the back.

Looking to snag an f-150/bronco 8.8

Mounted up the OHC

Got a cheap $100 china LED bar off ebay and wired it up to the stock fog light button then realized i dont have the fog light plug/harness in the back....guess its BACK to the junkyard

Four of them wore unevenly due to uncharged shocks one time and I think wheel bearings the last time. So they howled a bit...but other than that they're OK. I wont be buying them again, may go back to BFG A/Ts or maybe something else. IDK I think I should try and unload these as soon as they wear back evenly. I want some Outlaw II rims.

Bought these only because I saw a white ranger with generals and methods. Looked cool so it was only for appearance, wish I would've shopped around a little more.
