2000 MN Ranger Fixing

About 3 months ago my head cracked on my 2000 Ranger 4.0 OHV motor. So, since it happened i have tore the top of the motor off and started rebuilding the top end. So far i have

-new heads
-new rocker arm assembly
-new push rods
-new lifters
-new timing chain and gears
-new water pump
-new thermostat
-new pacesetter ceramic coated headers

I also cleaned and de-greased the whole engine and painted it blue. Except for the oil pan.. i couldnt get to it. Maybe someday when i rebuild the rest of the engine.

Started taking the motor apart. I found out that head bolts suck. I couldnt get 3 of them out because they were stripped. Found a way to remove them though :)

Got some new parts! Soaking my new lifters for awhile. Also got the new heads. I did a little port grinding on them. Mainly just to smooth out how rough that they actually are. I do realize that it probably wont do anything.. but! Its the thought that counts haha. Also my new Delta Camshaft rocker arm kit. And i cleaned the intake also. Everything was so dirty! I like everything clean. After its put together the engine bay is getting some serious TLC.

Yeah I bet. That motor should be pretty dialed in when it's all done. Kinda off topic, but how do you like the 3 inch exhaust? Does it sound pretty good? I have the stock pipe running to a flowmaster super 44 with no pipe after it. I've been wanting to bump it up to 3 inch for a while now to make it a little louder.

It sounds pretty good with the 3". Its seems like its a little deeper/hollow sounding tone. I really like how it sounds. You can notice its louder but not over the top either. Should run great when im done! I cant wait, been rolling around in my Geo for too long haha.

That's definitely the sound that I'm going for. Thanks!

I've had about enough of the cold and the constant rain/snow for this year lol I can't wait for the warmer weather to show up!

That's the worst haha. Once you get the bolts are you just waiting on the headers or do you still need more parts?

That should be basically all i need to finish it up. A few other odds n ends.. oil, antifreeze, spark plugs.. been debating on jba wires.. but might just keep what i have. Well see. Id like a cold air intake eventually.. whoever had the truck before me hacked the stock one like mad.

That sucks.. Hope it works out for you! What's the plan if the headers don't work out?

I've read good things about both of those. I'm looking forward to seeing the motor all done!
