Bad head gasket, I'll get er going before long. I'm just afraid that cam is going to hold me up. That was smart to change the plugs, I plan on it before I lower it back in.

looks solid. lots of work though. i guess this will be the project for awhile. i would swap the front 4x4 components from 14 to this one so you can keep your manual hubs. that's just me though. have fun, can't wait to see the results. how many miles on 14? might be a good purchase :)

Yeah its a lot of work but when its done it will be worth it. I don't really want to go thru the trouble of swapping all the stuff to get the manual hubs. You probably only save a couple mpg anyway. I got the motor back in it but its not bolted up and hooked up yet. #14 has 157,000 miles on it.

I seen #25 in person and it looks like a nice truck.
John is one of the best mechanics in the country, so he'll have that engine going in no time.

Yeah I still interested but I didn't take time to really clean the grill and make sure it was nice. Ididn't want you to be disappointed with it.

These SOHC's are a tough to get to all the bolts to get them out. Its a PITA for sure...lol I'm going to try and get it hooked back up today but I need to go see my brother so I'm not sure I'll get it done.

You're Welcome
Thanks for helping on my truck ... It's so nice being able to put my windows down again :-)
And you also got my remote keyless entry working too. So that's a big +

Yeah, I made it home. I ended up going through Wheeling some how, but it wasn't that bad.

He would have already had it back together and running but he put a new in-dash wiring harness in my truck and put a fuse box harness back together for me.

BTW ... Don't ever buy anything from Rick's Used Parts in Kersey, PA
Those bastards sold me a cut up POS wiring harness for $250 and then they acted like they gave me a good deal.

I haven't had anytime to mess with it, but it won't take long when I do. Maybe in a few days I'll get a chance to finish it up.

Well I finally got it finished up and drove it some today. It's running good and not overheating so I think I solved the problem. I'm going to drive it for a couple days and see how it acts. So far no cel's or any other obvious problems except I know it needs an alignment and better tires.

Congratulations ... How do you like the power of that 4.0 SOHC?
Is it as powerful as mine?

Well It has plenty of power. Much better than the 3.0 or ohv. I didn't drive yours very much but I'll bet a 5 speed runs great! I have developed a problem though, the od light is flashing and its not going into od. I will probably drop the pan tomorrow and check it out.

Yeah, those 3.0Ls don't hold a candle to the 4.0 SOHC
I hate to hear about the transmission ... I hope it's something simple to fix.
