we are not sure if we should go soa, its about 50/50 right now, i like the height its at now, but it would be even cooler if it was taller, plus there would be more room for the axle to flex.

So many advantages of SOA... The only reason anyone should ever do or keep SUA is for ride quality, but hell man, you bought a truck not a car!
SOA FTW!!!!!!
You would get roughly 3" outta the lift, just the diameter of the axle and possibly the distance the perch sticks off the axle... I'd say at most 4"... 5" is a lot..

if front mounted shackles is such a good design why dont u see more sas truck using that concept

where i was going with that is jeeps suspension and most tucks with a straight axle are designed completely different from one another weight frame design and steering design all play a factor into that

at this point that crossmember is doing nothing but getting in the way and holding the engine up.
i am gonna try to cut it up as much as i can, i even pondered removing all of it but the mount pads and just brace the frame in other places.
