87 turbo ranger

figured its time for a build thread instead of posting a bunch of new threads1987 regular cab ford ranger....well not your typical ranger under the hood....2.3l turbo swap from a thunderbird turbo coupe, running 15psi.
wideband and front mount will be done in the next week or so.
on the pictures

next to my mazda...

dash

plan to slam it in the near future on some 17" svt cobra rims

i did the metal work myself,
engine is just a stock thunderbird turbo coupe 2.3l turbo, boost bumped up to 15psi and front mount intercooler in the very near future.

finally got some more parts! my innovate LC-1 wideband controller finally came and is installed, so nice to know my air/fuel at 5000rpm and 15psi. also picked up a set of 17" svt cobra rims, only down side is now it desperately needs to be slammed.
on to the pictures

a/f gauge location is only temporary

this is what i see at night

the rims

Whats the story on the front brakes and the 8.8? Are they in yet?

The bumper on the Mazda looks like one in a thread I can't find anymore. The guy was local to you and trying to sell them. Is it the same one/guy?

Have you considered doing something unique with that intercooler? I was thinking mounting it over the passenger tire and having an offset scoop on the hood. I've seen it done on dubs and scoobs and it looks cool and different.

i designed and built the bumper at my house. but a member on here saw my truck and fell in love and bought and identical one and wanted me to build him a clone of my bumper, but i didn't have time to do it myself so i referred him to my buddies fabrication shop that lives down the street from me.

In regards to the 8.8...did you have any clearance issues at the bed sides with the tires? What did you do for shocks and shock mounts? And is there still enough travel to not have to worry about C-notching the frame?

I'm running 17inch svt cobras on the 8.8. i did have to roll the fenders and use a belch 6400 shackle after the spring under for them to clear. i don't bottom out under normal driving, rides real nice. though i do plan to notch and box the frame. i just used the stock explorer mounts with some toxic drop shocks

No, that isn't the one I was referring to. I think the guy was trying to sell them or something.

Was the rear to low with the stock shackles? You using the 6400's to raise it up a little to fine tune the ride heigth?

yes with the stock shackles, the axle was about an inch from the frame and the tires were tucked in the wheel wells at all times, i plan to lower the whole truck more once i get adjustable camber bushings and notch the frame
