ShadowRangers Project
Nope, no fancy title or anything like that, just my project.
My truck has seen many different stages, but It was stripped down to stock, all parts sold, and ready to sell.
But due to its most recent 'accident mod' the resale value = shot. So its time to start having fun with my truck again. but I already did the lifted thing, and to be honest, It looked great but wasn't practical for me, never had anyone to wheel with, and it was 2wd so going alone = no way.
I'm enjoying the gas mileage I'm getting now (370-400 km per tank on 33s and lifted, and now I'm getting 600-700 km stock)
So I decided, why not go lower!
Here is what has been up;
ground off my shackle mount:
And simply rebolted flipped:
Don't have any pics yet with the bed on, It needs a wash, and I need time, but they will be up shortly!
I got about 1" - 1 1/2" out of the shackle flip (forgot to take measurement before and after), wasn't hard, worst part was waiting for my friend to get his *** outta bed to help me lift the box.
Unfortunately I can't lower the front anymore, unless I flip my keys, which I'm debating, but I've heard ride quality is complete garbage after it!
I'm debating coil-Overs, or just seeing whats involved in swapping over to an XLT setup for the front. I've got an AAL in the rear, so I can remove a leaf for another 1 1/2" in the back which I think I would be pretty content with, just once again, gotta deal with the front.
onto the other things I have done,
Decided its finally time for a decent system again!
mmm touch screen double DIN
tossed these in the front doors
aaand just building a box/looking for an amp for these guys!
Oh, and I may as well throw in a pic of my truck the day I got it back from the body shop, 42 days after my accident.
ps- got that tonneau for $60 off kijiji.
Next up, lower it a bit more, shave off the flares/badges, rollpan, Get some decent looking rims! and that just may be it...I'll update from time to time.

haha some day he'll get it im sure :P
Mirrors I have power mirrors, so maybe if they have power SS mirrors I'd do it, otherwise these stay! but yes, Laz would be first to get them.
Rims I want to get some KMC Black Novas, 18x9 with 255/55/18 tires
Flares, I'd love to have gone right now, buuuuut I need the funds to shave my bed/fenders (or someone with a DSG XLT to trade me)
To Those who don't like... haha I loved it lifted, but just wasn't worth it. so I'm doing something different! since I'm not the least bit happy with stock.

I love the double DIN, It has (but doesn't come equipped with) iPod Control, GPS, and Bluetooth, the cable for the iPod I got for $20, the bluetooth module is $60, and the GPS one is $75 so really, It's not bad. I paid $250 for it, it reg. $400, I got it on sale. I would have preferred a pioneer to be honest. This Clarion has a few things I don't really like about it, but for the H/U I wanted or anything similar to it, was over $500 (plus still had to pay extra for BT/GPS), so for half the price, I'm quite happy with it, I just have to figure out how to wire up the video to work while I'm driving...

I haaaaate the wheels I have right now, I got them when I was selling my truck to go to stock size for $200 with tires, now they are just hideous, but I'll be keeping them for winter tires. Rims will probably come in the spring. although I don't want to wait haha.

it's a good start IMO
I am contemplating doing the same to my 4x4. I hate the rake and the 1- 1 1/2 inches in the rear would be perfect.
I saw a DSG truck like yours yesterday with American Racing torque thrust d wheels in gray. It looked pretty sick.
here is a link to the wheels i saw.
Amazon.com: American Racing Vintage Torq Thrust D (Series VN105) Torq Thrust Gray With Machined…
I would leave it as is and get some better shocks and maybe a little more tire underneath to make up the fender gap.

actually I cant drop it any lower, my bolts are out as much as they can go without actually not being in. I'm gonna start looking into coil-overs or seeing whats involved in swapping the front suspension of an XLT in, but to be honest, I dont even know where to find an XLT haha, everyone has sport or FX4 around here.
