Going from stock to...well, not stock

Ok, so I decided that I'd make this thread for myself and anyone else who would like to track my progress in making my truck less stocky...I'll be listing things I plan on doing, taking many pictures, asking opinions, so on and so forth.

So far I've replaced the stock speakers with some Pioneer TS-G6842R speakers (got them on eBay..also had to mod them so I could use the plug from the stock speakers...warranty voided..lol), threw in my head unit from my first car (Pioneer DEH-4600MP), and threw my blue light in the window.

To Do List:
  1. Install Maglite & clips as well as fire extinguisher--COMPLETED
  2. Install & mod grill strobes--COMPLETED
  3. LED tail lights COMPLETED
  4. LED turn signals (yellow)
  5. New gauge cover thing (white-glows blue/red)--COMPLETED (pics to come)
  6. Definity Dakota A/Ts (rear) COMPLETED
  7. Flow Master Super 44 muffler
  8. Air Box Mod--COMPLETED
  9. Remove Pin Stripes--COMPLETED
  10. High Beam/Fog Light Mod--COMPLETED
  11. Mod manual locks for use with keyless entry
  12. Tool Box
  13. Tonneau Cover
  14. Tow package
  15. Get a winch(maybe)

(I'll be updating the list as time goes on)

UPDATE (3/19/09)

Ok, so i washed it, removed the pin stripes, and decided to do my first flex ever. lol.

UPDATE (2/11/09):

The tires (replaced rear)

Kinda hard to tell but there's LED lights in there...I probably should have taken a pic before I put em in...oh well.

UPDATE (2/7/09):

Alas! the strobes are done...what a pain in the ***...ENJOY! (video last).

I used one of those fancy switches with the cap tht you flip up, then flick!

Strobes and blue light (thinking about getting a bar light next..this ones too short.

ok so here's the video...for some reason the camera made it look like the strobes weren't really...strobbie...but trust me they are, infact i got to test em out about an hour ago on my way to a dwelling call..BS, but fun lol.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...10889515&hl=en
(can't figure out how to embed the video)

UPDATE (2/6/09):

Here's what I was able to accomplish today...not as much as I wanted to, but at least the strobe lights are mounted...can't use em yet...but hey, tomorrow is another day.

Ok the strobes are installed in the grill, kind of concealed...like a cop lol.

UPDATE (2/5/09):

Ok so I took some interior pics after finishing up the maglite clip mod and the extinguisher mod...also snaped a shot of the Pioneer head unit, enjoy!

Pioneer DEH-4600MP (did this like the 3rd day I had the truck)

The extinguisher mod (completed 2/5/09)

The maglite mod (completed 2/5/09)

The side walls aren't as strong as the BFGs though. Tread is closer together as well

I've gotten my last 2 sets of BF's at Sams and Bj's. They install, give a road hazzard warranty and will rotate and balance every 5,000 all included in the price. When I got mine in Nov. '08 I paid around $800 (sux having that 16inch rim) at BJ's.

Screw Sams and BJ's go to Costco. Coming up in the beginning of March we should have another sale. Probably $80 off of a set of 4. We are not sure exact dates or details but thats when we are due for our next sale.

Mounted Strobes

Ok, so the only thing I accomplished to day was the mounting of the strobes...I was kinda disappointed that I didn't get to wire them, but hey tomorrow is another day...and when it's finished I'm gonna like...**** a brick...if it works out well enough lol.

No but with that coupon the membership will pay for itself the first time you use it. Then use it through out the year and it will be well worth it. If you buy a gallon of milk a week it will pay itself off.

your stock air intake is a cold air intake. buying an aftermarket one is a waste of money with a stock engine, and a stock tune.
