Back Rack on Stepside

Back Rack on Stepside
I purchased a Back Rack form CL for $100 but it came with tool Box Mounts.
Put up a Trade Ad in the classified and waiting to see if I can get someone to respond and wants to trade my Tool box Mounts for Red Mounts for no Tool Box.
This is a Rack for a Styleside Bed, no big problem since the cabs are the ssame width all that is needed is mod’g the lower rail.
After I mod the lower rail of the Back Rack to fit the width of the Stepside, I will have the Rack Painted RED (E4) to match things up.
Then add my two Radio Antennas (A Tri-Band VHF/UHF HAM and CB) and a Scanner Antenna; may need another HAM Antenna but we will see.
Thinking of KC Backup Lights for Cargo Lights added to the sides of the Rack with “L” Brackets.
Here are a few pics to get things started :
The Rack on the ground.
Rack sitting on the bed, you can see the lower rail needs to be cut.

The Tool Box Brackets I want to trade for red bracket for no tool box.

I know it has only been a day but no responses to my request for trading brackets and I found from looking on the web for brackets that the standard bracket are not a HD as the tool box brackets.
Soooo, I decided to mod the tool box brackets and use then to mount the Rack to the Ranger.
It is raining today so I will not be outside doing the mod, dam Jeep is taking up space in the shop, but should get started on Mother’s Day; since I am a MOTHER (F’er that is), I will do what I want tomorrow. (after I put up the shed for my wife, mother of my daughter and she said I could do what I want after that)… LoL x2.

Mod’d the Tool Box Mounts for No tool Box
I took the Tool box Mounts and mod’d them to work with my Rack and no Tool Box.
Here are a few pics to show what I did so far.
Started with these Tool Box Mounts
Cut the excess material off to shorten the length.
Tried the shorten mount out on the bed.
Made a cross cut where the Mounts would be angled.
Cut angles on the Mounts to make them look a little better.
Tried the Modified Mount on the Bed.
That’s all so far if it doesn’t rain tomorrow I will set up the bed and drill some holes for the mounts and see what the Rack looks like.
All that is needed is to mark the Rack for cutting (shorten the lower cross bar to fit the Steppie Bed) and weld up the ends after cutting and then some paint.
I was going to paint the Rack Red to match the truck but I’m thinking leaving it black now.
ltr
p.s., Before you ask the Cut Off Saw I used is a Milwaukee 872, uses a 10” Tooth type blade and cuts really straight IF I go slow.

I was afraid the first time I used it, thought it was going to kick like a mule but nothing. I am sure if the blade dropped too fast something would happen but easy does it.
