Big. Black. Tips. Lol
4" tips to be exact. Also ordered some high-flow cats, but I'm sending them back. Not going to run any cats.

I'm hoping the finish holds up well. My initial impressions are good. Shouldn't have to worry about discoloration and definitely don't have to worry about polishing them.

Small update time.

Went to the shop yesterday, and things are progressing. The headers are touching the steering shaft, not the nut on the extension like most BL'ed guys with 5.0s report. The planned solution is to shim the motor up to clear the shaft, which shouldn't take much adjustment at all. That should be getting worked on today or tomorrow.

Also on the to-do list:
Run the fuel return line
Cut the rear sway bar so that the new shock mounts can be welded to the axle
Finish welding the rear leaf spring perches (they were tacked in place so the axle could be mounted up)
Replace rear rotors and pads
Connect all wires and hoses
Wire the gauges up

So in short, we're getting close! Everything at this point is relatively minor. Bad news is the guy at the shop hurt his leg the other day when a guy he was riding with drove his car off the road into a ditch, so he's not working at full capacity.

I also got the Rev1 tune from MPT today. The tuner said he was able to bypass PATS with the tune. He also sent me the data logging software so that they can dial the tune in for me. Seems pretty straightforward.

The only downside to the tuning is that my 3 free tunes turned into 1 because of all of the modifications I've done to the truck. The trade off in that is the I only had to pay $50 for their data logging services. So in essence I traded 3 free basic tunes for 1 completely dialed in tune and data logging for only $50. Not too shabby.

After the truck is up and running, it's getting a new windshield, tint, and exhaust. Then I'm taking it home to install the interior and a few other things.

Stay tuned.

Question, has the guy at the shop ever worked at full capacity?
Anyways, good to see some progress!

Lmao full capacity is a relative term. Him at full capacity is most of us on a slow day. Him at half capacity isn't that great, but at least he's still working. Some of the old Ranger and Explorer parts have sold, which means I hardly owe him anything out of pocket. If only I could find a buyer for the Ranger trans and 7.5...

Yeah, at least it has a somewhat new R&P and bearings in it. Someone bought the 3.slow so I still have hope of selling the 7.5

Well they put the 3.0 in anything from the Aerostar to the Taurus. You keep hoping on that 7.5. I've also got an ocean front alpaca farm for sale in Nevada if you're interested

I love your optimism. Keep in mind that people down here drive junk cars everywhere. They're always looking for a cheap fix. All I need is 1 person.

Just giving you a hard time man, I know all about that with where I work. Realm gotta live the people who just buy a spark plug for the cylinder that is misfiring or who wants to mix copper with platinum

When a Mexican tries to push start his lifted ranger with a 2.3 in a parking lot because he's too cheap to buy a new starter

Guy that worked at the Pizza Hut next to my Advance would have his coworkers come out and help him push start his Integra. Did that for about a week or two until he could buy a starter. lol.

No update on the truck. I'll go check next week, hopefully for the last time lol.

In other (unrelated) news, I'm flying to Vegas for a conference towards the end of February if anyone is in the area and wants to grab a beer or something.
