This will be a ' I dont know what your talking about ' type of thread. I'll respond about things I've posted pictures of, but not much else. Someone on here sent me a PM stating I only post in the politics section to which I told them to pull up my profile and look at what I've done. The ' Sorry about that ' reply came next but.. ya know.. I think I can let some of what I've been up to out.

Again, I'll comment on whats posted but not much else. Theres still some things in ' the works ' and with help from some sources ( Thanks ahead of time ZaBeard, Gumby and Nick of PD racing! ) I should get things ' right '

I'm not doing anything to be ' rude ' or like this is some big secret as just about everyone I have met from these forums ( and some I haven't ) know where this road is going and I believe I know where it will end

Presently, my truck is in PIECES, Literally. Its in about.. 4 locations ( dyno shop , my shop/garage , Brians fabrication facility and parts still in stores :) ).

With the weather being down in the dumps as of late ( Raining/wet/freezing rain, I decided to start on something LONG overdue ( Rwenzinger/DetroitBob will get a laugh at this as hes asked me a few times about it.. )

The part sitting in the yard.. Note the suspension. Its shot! Once again, the lowering of an edge and trying for performance really doesn't go hand in hand. Even after making upper arms, saving balljoints on top, the correction angles still don't work. It still gets loose in corners and theres something in the works to try and ' correct ' this. THATS the part at Brians shop right now ( pics on that when I get back from vacation ).


Note: Nice axle eh? Wait.. thats just a housing so it can rest. Hmm.. wonder whats going in there?

YEP! Finally getting on those old Fender flare holes. Its only been since.. Oh.. early 2005? LOL!

Theres some other things that MIGHT catch peoples attention in those pics, if so.. I won't respond I'm 100% unknowing of anything I haven't spoken about.

I'm going to finish the bed while I wait for certain parts and for Brians people to finish up on something for me. I will openly say.. Those torsion bars, lower arms and certain frame sections are GONE as soon as the weather is dry and I have time. There will be some parts for sale on here after the local Buffalo crew gets through picking out what they want from it first ( some of it is actually spoken for already ).

More as time goes by.

 

I was going to get a huge rubber band.. and I have like 8 cats.. somehow hook them up like a conveyor belt that propells the rear gears.. or turns the axle shafts.. 4 cats per side.. But one cats fat, ones still a kitten.. it wouldn;t balance out right.. too much math and the cost of mice these days to keep those cats running! 5$gas is CHEAP!

Welp.. Diggr gave me a ' book ' about racing suspensions. I took a long/hard look at it.

It was a CART/Indy book that was written by the folks whom worked with Ferdinand Porche and for Lambo. It had insight into correction angles, setting camber and all sorts of nifty views/workings of lateral-g's and such.

I saw Nicks thread with the IRS and such and thought ' Ya know.. I could dump a 1000hp engine in here and make it go 7's or 8's without much effort.. but thats just in a straight line '.

The ONLY worry I would have had taking down that Cobra at that first Centralia meet was ' What if we run out of straight road? '. Yeah.. not a good idea. Trucks don;t like twists and turns, I have a list of broken parts and colission work to substantiate such a theory :).

I think almost everyone knows what to expect, but theres some things I never mentioned

Just because a car wears a ' 350 ' badge on its outside doesn't mean it has one. It COULD have a Big block or something else under there.

Just because an Intake manifold says ' 5.0 HO ' Doesnt mean theres 347 inches of displacement.

Just because I own a truck doesn't mean I won't go after some AWD rice not only in a straight line, but also around turns as well.

Its good to be underestimated sometimes, especially when planning 5-10 steps ahead of the game

 

Well.. My expectations are 5g's of lateral stability and like.. 0-120 in 2.1 seconds.. :)

Thats a Myth. People will laugh and say I'm wrong and point out to a whole industry of all these other entities.. I just ask a simple question to refute it. If AWD is so great, why hasn't CART, NASCAR and Indy adopted it? Surely, if it were as touted, it would add stability in corners where most accidents happen and help reduce the risks to the drivers, equipment and spectators.

AWD requires adding weight. In my instance, it would require a transfer case, a front differential, axleshafts with needle berrings or CV's.. More **** to fail/break down.. I break enough ' stuff ' as it is already.

 

Spent the day welding, grinding, welding, grinding.. I can't believe how many holes ford put in for those stupid flares.

I'm to the point now where I don't need to use any metal backing, I can just run beads and fill the holes without metal warp ( burns the paint real good though :) ).

Just a little-bit of bondo was needed, not a lot at all, just to ' surface ' where I used the grinder. ( Bondo + cold = bad )

I'm going to ask FMD if he doesn't mind me using his blasting equipment and doing the WHOLE underside of my bed, to which I will then have it coated with some preventative coating ( Thin layer of rhino or x-line or something ).

The seams on the cab will be next once I ship the bed out ( hopefully it will be ready on monday to go to the shop where its being painted. ). Once the bed is out, the cab will go into my shop to have that ' ledge ' thats on 2 door cabs filled and smoothed as well as the seams that show around the back window. I also plan on cutting out the tranny tunnel as I'm going to need some room for my new bellhousing/scatter guard.

I'm going to need to move the pedals as well. I was looking at moving them about an inch and a half towards the door.

 

Sounds like a plan! Maybe get a meet going at Summit or something!

You ever driven a vehicle with a cable clutch ( not a soft one like your rangers hydro-clutch ) but one that requires feel? I ditched that sh1tty slave cylinder tranny within the first year of having my truck ( Thus nobody has seen a post from me about that POS failing! ).

 

BTW!

WANTED! -- > Tilt wheel steering column. Don't need the wheel or airbags, just the column, the hinge and its covers ( I have ignition and wiring from my present truck ).
