The Cookie Monster Build

Hey guys, thought I'd make a project log for my truck, just recently named Cookie Monster... lol, I have lots of fun stuff in store for it.

I bought this truck last year for an unbelievable price with only 80 000km on the odo. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the first day I got it, but here are some pictures right after I lifted it.

Then this past weekend I decided I'd bedline the rock guards, part of the tailgate, and the hood.

And here are the results!

Looks good so far. Curious, though. I get the reason for the rock guards being bedlined, but why the hood?

Just for appearance, saw another ranger that did the same and thought it looked pretty good.

Fender flares are now on. Does she look better with them on or off? Let me know what you think! :)

Here's a couple pics from last night's cruise and how it sits today after I finally built mounting brackets for my light bar

Little update on the truck here, I wired the light bar up and my god, it is bright. Best $100 I've ever spent in my life.
So I've decided I'm officially saving up for a Superlift, so I'm super excited about that, I hope I can get that soon. Anyone out there double lifted with 35's? If you are, post a pic of your truck, I'd love to see how it looks!

It's a slippery slope. I love my super lift, but am itching to ditch the torsion bars. Haha

The only problem is the exchange rate to Canada is so shitty right now. So I might have to wait a bit until the dollar goes up. But yeah I heard coils are a much better ride.

Ohhhh, didn't realize you were in Canada. That must make buyin parts fun.

Yea, it's supposed to smooth out the ride a lot. Plus you gain a lot of break over clearance on a super lifted truck without the tbars hangin down there. (Looks a hell of a lot better too).

It makes buying parts extremely fun lol. Is your truck double lifted? Or just a superlift?

Yeah I totally agree, the tbars hanging down there don't look the greatest

No, I just have the super lift/cranked torsion bars. I've tossed around the idea of throwing on a body lift, but there are a lot of things higher up on the list. Plus my 33s only have 2,000 miles on them.

Got some cancer to take care of (drivers floor board is all but gone and the core support has seen better days), got a set of expo power/leather seats sittin in the garage to install, and I wanna clean up some of my wiring that I kinda half assed. Coil overs are in there somewhere to.

Sure! I never turn down a chance to ***** out the truck haha

You always have to jump at opportunities to ***** your truck out

So I thought I'd update this thread just letting everyone know what the current mod plans are, not in order.

* Explorer OHC Mod, not too sure where I can find one of these though.
* Nightshade on headlights/taillights.
* 4" Superlift, finally get that double lift on, will do the coil-over conversion as well.
* HID Conversion mod on headlights
* Change interior cluster lights to match the blue of my truck.
* Upgrade speakers, throw in subs and an amp, already wired for it.
* New grille, I have been looking for a full "honeycomb-looking" grille, but haven't had any luck.
* Neighbor is letting me use his welder, so I am possibly going to sketch up some ideas for a front bumper.

Next weekend I'm going to touch up a few spots of the bedliner I just recently did. The product that I used was extremely hard to use as it came in an aerosol can, and it came out a little "blotchy" looking on some spots of the hood.

You can find the OHC in junkyards with everything you'll need, or you can find them on ebay. Have fun cutting into your headliner, lol

So while waiting for my lift to ship, I've been gathering parts for this build.

Today I found a pair of Hankook Dynapro MT's (315/75/R16) with about 50% tread left. When I went to go look at them, it turned out that I knew the seller personally, so I bought all 4 on rims for $200.

So I'll be running those after the lift and regear.

I still need:
• Replacement Front Driveshaft
• 4.88 Yukon Gears for Front and Rear Differential

Here's a picture I took with the 35's besides my current 33's.

Can't wait to be able to run these.

While I wait for the stuff I ordered for my truck to arrive, I decided I'd tackle a mod this weekend. And so far, I'm glad I did.

Before:

After:

I'm also going to do the corners, but that will have to wait until tomorrow, I have to go drink some fireball.
