I worked on it basically all day, mowed the yard somewhere inbetween all that.
Blocked off the blower box for the AC, welded a few holes shut on the firewall, finished mounting the front shock, mount up the drivers side header, no luck with the passenger side one. Messed around with front end travel some, put the winch back in, brake booster, master cylinder, pulled the ranger wiring harness.
take a breath, lol. installed the engine harness, installed the power steering pump, worked on the wiring some more, im not sure what else. Basically worked on it all day.
No pictures.

only reason i have not is because i didnt want to spend money on a high pressure pump on the 4.0 then put the 5.4 in and do it all over again. so for now I am just setting it up basic. that is something i can add at any time. right now i just want it driving.

I didnt get anything done today but I did go get the 203 range gear box and 2 205 tcases. Should be enough to get it mounted and sorted out this week. I hope. I need to find a cable shifter kit for it.
Plan this week is to finish the suspension get the engine crossmembers/cage in and start making progress on wiring or a plan for it.

Yeah I know I could, he gave me his rigged setup it might work fine but by the time I spend 2-3 nights on something I could just spend 150 and be done with it. Its my understanding they are around 150 but I really have not looked. That will be one of the last things ill mess with. I can always craw under there and change it if I need to.
Goal is to make it run, then debug, tune suspension, then wait until Winter to get the transmission rebuilt and the final tuning done on it. (for now that is the plan). I dont plan on wheeling it until the dunes next spring.

No just the factory dash. I am building all of the gauges to fit in where the cluster is now. There maybe a few that I mount in the custom center console I build. But that is months down the road at this point. I am jsut trying to button everything up one step at a time.
Some day all of this will be mounted in a caged chassis of some kind and it will be a true 4 seater truggy with a ranger hood, fenders, headlights, and grill.

Keep up the good work and don't lose hope. With any luck I can get mine done this winter and come to the Dunes with Andy next year as well.

sounds great man! its a lot of fun.
I have not given up hope just isnt my normal project speed. this is a huge project.
No time to work on it tonight, a guy off PowerStrokeNation.com had trailer issues down on I70 (2 hours from me) so I offered to drive down there with a welder and fix it in the truck stop parking lot. That was interesting but he is from cali and headed to west virginia. Some how the wheel cracked and lost all air, so I welded it back shut ground it smooth and filled it with air. Worked out great!
He had a real nice 2008, lifted Blue, on 37s. Pulling a 1974 porche and a Toyota helix with a 327.
