meh i had a good time with the 44, learned a ton, so i dont regret it, dont really care about the green so called wasted.

thanks for the comments guys.

the guy sold them as a pair, so i just bought it, i am sure i will find a use for that rear 60, or i will just keep it for parts.

I stripped the whole thing down, never seen an axle from this time frame look so good. the internals are mint, and everything is in great shape. I already had rotors that worked from an incorrect purchase for the 44. All I really need is the kingpin rebuild stuff, wheel bearing seals, and some new grease. the bearings are in great shape too. Same with the u-joints.

The lockouts were broken, so I need some type of replacement, probably just drive flanges.

Keeping all the front setup the same then i take it?
You gonna run chromo shafts or just see how the stockers hold up first?

I think his plan is to run the stock shafts.. in his defense i have seen a YJ with a 400hp 5.7 and 39.5 iroks beat the living **** out of stock shafts.. a stub shaft finally let go but it took quite a bit.

Yeah I have no plans to upgrade shafts, or spline count. I will just wait until it breaks. No changes to the suspension, seems to work good so im not going to change it.

awesome, going to a nice uprgade for sure. Watching your truck grow makes me wish i would just go for a 60 and be ready to rock. But I'm only rolln on 36's now and I'll have chromos. so when I want to go up in tire and coilover/link setup I'll go 60.

I just need to buy 4 brackets from Ballistic. Lowers, Upper link mount, and panhard mount.

then some drive flanges. Not too bad. Should be able to get the axle under there for about 1500, plus the 800 for the axle.

idk what i want for a locker, might just hold out for a detroit later and run an open diff. though I hate open diffs. lol

found this place online selling all Dana Spicer stuff for the kingpin, plus they had yukon gears 20$ cheaper than anywhere i had seen.

4WD Factory

I have never heard of them until the other day (ranger) posted something about his Dana60 build, they sell ruffstuffspecialties.com, ballisticfabrication.com, bluetorchfab.com and trailgear.com parts, brackets, etc....

so they must be decent??

They engage your front axle shafts to your hubs 100% of the time, as opposed to manual hubs, which allow you to not have the front axle shafts engaged with your hubs at the user's discretion.

Like Kevin said. Much stronger and it shortens the hub about an inch so it will tuck inside the beadlock.
