Mods, please help and delete the duplicate posts. Sorry for the multi-post. There was a huge lag after I hit submit. The ISP must have resent the data multiple times.

Damn, just noticed this. Nice that you are back to building. Lots of works going into that exploder

Thanks, I am hoping that it will turn out as cool as I think that it will be when it is driving again.

I've always considered finding a decent sport trac and swapping all my stuff over to have 4 doors, but then I talk myself out of it haha

Fiberglass mock-up! I am happy with the way that the Baker fenders matched up. IMO the front end width matches the fenders well.

Since I wanted to move my rear axle back, these were my only option at the time. My first impression is that these actually make my 35's look small. I wish there was a happy medium somewhere. MFG Explorer fender & bedside sizing is fairly worthless. On my Ranger, Fiberwerx 6" fenders and bedsides matched my front and rear almost perfectly. On the Explorer the Glassworks and Fiberwerx 6" fenders were much too small (same front end and wheels). As you can see from these pictures, the 7" bedsides look more like a 10" bedside (same rear axle and wheels as what I had on the Ranger). Oh well, I am going to run it because I am done wasting money on fiberglass for right now. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1375630734 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1375630734 |

Thanks for the comments. As for fiberglass. I think that my plan is to run a set of Walkers with 3.75 bs at some point in the future. As I looked around, I could not believe how impossible it is to find a 5 on 4.5 17" wheel with anything less than 4.5" bs. Unfortunately at almost $400.00 a wheel, it will be a while before that becomes a reality. Progress pictures: Engine cage cross brace is now removable and stock ABS is removed. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1376679182 Double shear support for the front bypass added: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1376679182 Checking to see if my 3rd Gen 4Runner Baja Rack will work up top: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1376679182 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1376679182 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1376679182 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1376679182 |
looking good Matt! Along with removing that ugly huge ABS module (don't miss that turd, didnt even work) I'm going to have to lose/modify my blower motor. My Pass. tire at full bump slams into it and is all broken now. But I could maybe fix that with a less backspacing wheel like you want to go with. And like you said..hard to find for cheap.

I wonder if my blower motor will be a problem? We have checked bump travel and it looks close but not too bad. We were thinking about running a skid under it to keep the tire from taking it out. |
yeah, see i checked mine and it seemed like it was going to be fine. But it must have really bumped hard and went the extra little bit. I need to get my camber issues figured out and that would help some too. I had to chop a lot more out of the inner fender than i first had too.

Nice tube work so far! Doesnt it feel good to rip some of that junk out?
