Im looking to buy a 89 ford ranger but it has a 2.9l v6. i am wondering what kind of mods i will have to do to set a 90' 302... im also wondering if i will have to mount the radiator in the bed and if i will have to run an electric fan. Anyone with answers? thanks

 

Let's see, I run a 91 Mustang radiator, under the hood, with slim electric fans. I would Imagine a Ranger radiator would work, with the Mustang radiator there is no room for A/C lines, and it doesnt get any air flow on the sides because of the front of the truck, so I'm thinking it's useless running a Mustang rad.

There were problems with the shifter, I'd reccomend a cable shifter, if you go auto.

if you're 4wd, then you might have some issues with the xcase shifter, i had a few, and a custom front driveshaft. I'm still waiting to get mine made...

Only major thng I can think of off the top of my head at the moment was cutting and boxing the frame to clear the exhaust.
