It keeps pecking in my mind that they're fordzilla's seats. Idk why. That, and I'm not a seat expert, lol

Technically they were only in his posession in the bed of his truck. Never installed.

True, so technically the new ones are partially your old ones.

Well I got the new seats in and have been enjoying them for a week now. So glad I switched them out infinitely better than stock and a good improvement over the low back mountaineer seats.
On to the pictures... https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1465528371 You can see my axles in the background. I got them all installed and when I got in, I realized I needed to have it sit down an inch and a half lower so my head would stop hitting the roof. Apparently the tracks on the driver side sit down that much further than the passenger. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1465528371 Once the driver was cut down and welded back up it fits perfect. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1465528371 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1465528371 Now I'm needing to research what Pedro used to dye his explorer seats black so I can do these the same way. The budget isn't there right now to be reupholstered, but the leather is still in pretty good shape, so it'll be livable for quite some time. |
Seats look killer dude
|
Thank you! Have I mentioned how comfortable they are?
|
Those seats look good! I'm guessing 3rd Gen explorer?
I've heard of people using that sem paint on leather with good results |
Lewks gewd!
|
I gotta know what those are out of. My ranger needs a set of those
|
1st Gen Escape XLT. 2004 or 2005 IIRC.
|
Seats look awesome, makes me want to get off my butt and put in my explorer seats

Well I sent off my output shaft from the 5 speed a week ago to be machined. Aparrently there was a difference in the shaft diameter of 2nd and 3rd gears. Hopefully get it back within a week to put the 5 speed back together that has been sitting apart for a week now. Just gotta remember how to put it all back together.
Also decided to play around with my underglow and get a night shot. Not bad for like $40 in parts. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1465874597 |

Output shaft will be back tomorrow and my T case output adapter to a 3010 joint will be here today.
took some time last week to take the Escape seats out and dye them black. And let me tell you, SEM Classic Coat is some awesome stuff! same exact stuff Pedro (99offroadrngr) used in his 04. Very happy with them and for $12.75 a can, it is amazing. And have I mentioned how much better these seats are than the Mountaineer ones? You can see for yourself. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1466437200 |

Update time! Haven't done much of anything lately. Just started fulltime for O'Reilly as a commercial manager. Pay is much better than before and I'm getting tons of OT.
As far as the truck goes, I did tackle one mod today that I've been wanting to do for a while. My AVIC D3 pioneer head unit has been on its way out for over a year. The software glitches and resets have been irina ting to say the least. I looked into getting a newer 7" unit like the 4200NEX, but really didn't feel like spending $600 not to mention my wife would have killed me, so I started researching some other alternatives and landed on this. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1470012963 And then I had to figure out how to get the sound to my amps and found this nifty little dude called a Digital Signal Processor. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1470012963 Then I had to figure out how to program it for my needs and after talking to the software developer for an hour, got it set about perfect. Then came the install and with the knowledge of how to use the tuning software, was able to get it to sound quite nice. I have no pictures of during the install, but only have the final result. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1470012963 |
How is it secured in there? I really like that...
