Decided to just do a ' loop ' for the body work. start at the cab on the drivers corner and end at the passengers corner.

Talk about clear coat falling off or flaking everywhere..

Actually, the cab and both doors have been replaced twice. My truck came as a 2door cab, after the first wreck I picked up a 4door cab.. didn't like the 4 doors, the cab itself was weak.. wrecked again.. back to what I started with.

I also never went back to sliding glass in the back either. I had a piece of 3/8ths lexan cut and put in after the first wreck. If the law allowed, I wouldn't have any ' real ' glass in there at all.

As for tonight..
I ground off the paint and used the rivet welder on the door to pop out some of that dent.. The problem is, I ( as an unknowing soul ) tried knocking that dent out with a block of wood from the inside when it first happened and made it WORSE. Theres a bunch of dimples from where the corner of the wood block was..

I might have to gut the whole door and have it ' stamped ' on a press at Brians shop.. then go from there. Dunno.

 

I sent them out. a woman I know locally does ' plastic ' coating. I dunno exactly what she does, but I can even flex the pieces while yanking them off and they don't crack or anything. Its like a powdercoating for plastic.. I'm not really sure what all she did or what she used but it was under 50$ for all of it.

I need to ask her if she can do the dash itself. I dunno if the process requires some form of ' baking ' or anything like that.

 

Yep. Whenever I replaced or worked on anything underneath, I painted/coated it red. When the blue cathodes are on, they appear a purple color.

 

Heres a hint : It WILL hook-up and go quite straight.

With playing in a band and doing those recordings for a year, then school on top of it.. There just wasn't any time.

Now with doing an internship and not doing music for a while, I have the time to get involved into this.

I had a date set on when I wanted to have it ' all done ', but I've dismissed it. I dunno when I'm going to get to the engine and tranny but everything else should fall in place in a relatively short time span.

Umm.. I believe the headlights are original still? They might have been replaced when I hit a sement barrier a few years back.. Can't remember. The bed is original but its been ' modded ' of sorts now. Doesn't have the flare holes anymore and its been braced and undercoated. Bumper is gone.. cab and doors have been re.. WAIT! Lower control arms are original! YEP! Theres something! I think the Y-pipe on the exhaust as well but it was modded to clear the Tranny.

Right now, its still sonic blue. I had the paint and decided to just ' use it ' to see how lacking my skills were. I have very POOR painting skills to say the least and I'm glad I wasted the sonic blue this first time just to see how it would come out.
