This will be the thread I will update as I start hackn into the truck soon. So far I will just update it with the plans ahead and a few of the goodies I've gotten so far.

Plans:

- DBR 4x4 kit
- Glass front/rear (still not sure if I should try and go flareside or not)
- 35" bfg m/ts
- new 16x8 rims
- full bed cage
- cab cage
- mild motor work, cam, headers, tuner.
- seats/harnesses
- Giant 64 leafs, link killers in the future for them depending on when money allows.
- 4.88 gears
- locked rear..not sure maybe front.
- explorer rear axle.for now till I decide to go bigger.
- New bumpers front and rear along with some sliders

just a couple pics for now. I will be getn rims in the next week or so. I'm thinking either outlaw II's or somthning else cool but not super flashy or spendy. I will be getn 6 of them for 2 rear spares

175$ for some 3/4 or so tread bfgs couldnt pass em up. just need 2 spares now

fordlife Feb 3, 2010 08:32 PM

looks like you got your work cut out for, lookin foward to this build.

HighRollerII Feb 3, 2010 08:35 PM

thats all? noob ;)

Downey Feb 3, 2010 09:18 PM

i want those tires why do i have to be poor

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 3, 2010 09:31 PM

thanks yeah I'm going to try and get as much as possible done before the trip. I think I will only be getting the front done for sure, and then a simple bed cage and the 64s with nice shocks on before then. then after I will spend most the summer getn it fully caged and some bypasses for the rear etc, and head to the dunes again in august.

Metro55 Feb 3, 2010 10:42 PM

dear lord.. goona be sick!

stRanger Feb 4, 2010 03:56 AM

thought you were going solid axle? Anywho, should be a nice build up!

My91Ranger Feb 4, 2010 10:19 AM

Sweet build Andy. Can't wait to see how it comes out.

Who is the bender made by? And what cam are you thinking of running?

JoshK Feb 4, 2010 10:29 AM

Looks good, I may have to air out the jeep now.

Urandaman Feb 4, 2010 10:48 AM

HELL YA.

why a 16" rim though, that will make tires a bit more expensive (when buying new)

if ya run rear glass, i would ditch the bed completely and sell it to someone needing a bed, and just mount bedsides off the cage..

not sure if budget allows, but would keep ya from needing to upgrade later. u can get a full floater complete minus 3rd member for $800 from shriener enterprise...

and i would not run 4/5pt harnesses until caged, definately do not mount the shoulder belts to the floor, it will pull you DOWN into the seat, instead of Back against the seat..

mikerider Feb 4, 2010 11:47 AM

keep the bed run one of these!

Sweet! Can't wait to see it done!

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 4, 2010 01:04 PM

Yeah I'm in tune with all the cage standards and such. I will have to run a full tube bed just for the mere fact I don't have a regular bed to mount them to. I will get the rear cage done before the dunes but the cab will have to wait. I want it done, but I don't want to rush it. If I didnt have a flareside I might keep the bed, but its just easier for me to ditch it.

Oh and 16s only cause I found cheap tires for them.I have my 15s I may keep.or go 17s someday too

Rob not sure on cam yet, somthing mild paired with some 1.7 rr's for now.

My91Ranger Feb 4, 2010 01:29 PM

If your looking for a real good cam on the cheap that will work great with the 1.7's, the mustang HO's stock cam really can deliver. The mustang forums have a great respect for that cam even over aftermarket.

Urandaman Feb 4, 2010 02:29 PM

not sure if it will be a problem on your kit, but on my mid travel an i am sure it would have been on the LT i had, stock rims will not fit, but i think it was due to the custom spindles i had... but food for thought so ya dont hit that brick wall with no money to buy new rims ha

rstangboi Feb 4, 2010 11:52 PM

**sigh**.......as us steppies go our separate ways....

itll look sick....but im gunna miss how rugged your truck looks as is right now.

too bad your so far away.. your bumpers are exactly how i want mine.

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 5, 2010 08:07 AM

Thanks for the info rob I will into that for sure. Also the bender is a pro model 3 bender with some extras.

Yeah I'm sure rims will be ok since the kit reuses the stock spindle. If I had a custom I'm sure you might have to or for larger brakes etc.

Yeah I was always going to just keep it like it is or sas it,but I have always loved desert inspired trucks. I'm sure I will still make this next transformation come lookn mean.

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 27, 2010 07:52 PM

small update. Got my rims ordered, found a deal on the Ultra wheel rogues that Bryan is running. I liked them and dont ever see them anywhere. I was just going to run some outlaw II's but these were the same price. should be here wed. and I'll get them mounted to the bfgs.

TrePaul86 Feb 27, 2010 08:13 PM

Love those wheels! Cant' wait to see this done man.

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 27, 2010 08:21 PM

yeah in order to get it done quicker and the way I want before the dunes, I'm going to have to sell my motorcycle. But I guess now I dont have to worry about dying on it

I'll get some pics up of them mounted later next week. should look sweet. I'm going to get some outlaw IIs or somthing for my two spares.

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 27, 2010 08:37 PM

mine will look a bit different since they are x8's with a little less dish. you like'n them?

0RangerEdge2 Feb 27, 2010 09:00 PM

Dude I love them. Pretty easy to clean minus the lettering around the bead area but other than that they're great.

INT3RC3PTOR Feb 27, 2010 09:01 PM

good deal!
