yeah I started thinking of things like that. I do kind of want to make the back flat so it would have a space in between the front and back. but those holes wouldn't hold much haha. I'll rock it as just a gate for now, and maybe I can re-work the idea later on.

I think you are right on the flat back, what about four inches inside the bed ?

Can you do aluminum ?

Aluminum would make it a little lighter.

But if you do decide to make a Tool Box TailGate for a Steppiee please let me know.

Great job on the truck and the welding on the tailgate.

Was thinking all aluminum but just the sheeting would help.
As far as the holes in your gate, no hole in a tool box setup.
It would be a good place to store a tow strap, maybe chain, some shackles and some other small tools and items.

What set did you buy? I was eye-balling the set of Swag off-road set as well as their press brake kit for a 20-ton press.

My dad bought me the portaband stand for my Christmas. It's pretty slick. Got it with all the bells and whistles (foot pedal, powder coated, and miter guage). It's a damn nice little setup.

EDIT: Found a picture of my setup.

Nice! It's between that or a standup one my Dad never uses I could take. But that saves way more space than a standup one. And can still be portable

So some questions because I'm too lazy to go looking. What sort of coilovers you using and have you had any issues with them?

Also, what size nozzle did you have to run on your paint gun with the plasti dip? You just have a cheap gun? I'd assume the plasti dip would gunk up a gun fairly well. Thinking I'll do that to mine once I start tearing into it.

I have fox CO's, and have worked as good as I could need. The plasti dip when you buy it in sprayable gallons is thinned out for spraying. It doesn't really clog at all. And when yer done just put some thinner through it like you would clean after real paint and your good. I just have the one that came in there kit, which is really just a electric wagner type paint/stain sprayer.

haha no, but I havn't made any moves yet motor wise. I called a local builder on my 302-327 quote like a month+ ago and never heard back. so I've just been sitting on the idea so far. So really I'm starting to just think of all the other options even more. Once we finally have a few days of no snow/rain i'll try and get a little more work done on it. lately it's been just my f250 and a new motorcycle project.

Haha true, just in my garage in a million pieces. Just need to get my cab off so I can start boxing my frame and getting all my new crossmembers made. And finally decide what I'm throwing in it for a motor. I've been wanting to bomb around in it on these nice days so bad.

Well little update: Got the cab off the ranger and now I can start cleaning up the frame and plating, adding cross-members etc. Then Its time to get the motor in the works while I'm doing that. I think I've narrowed it down to I'm going to stroke the motor I have and go from there. I'm going to build it and install it on the frame without the cab and then cut the cab to fit where needed. I will be setting the engine back a little bit for weight, and also to help the headers clear my shock hoops etc. Its racecar, so I'll be making things fit but cutting and welding. Also a little update on garage status as seen in pics

Cab is officially off the ranger. with the help of the engine hoist(through the driver window), a few well placed chains and hooks in the cab, and a good buddy :)

Added a few goodies in the garage as well

compressing large amounts of air is good.

and with it.. every shop needs a pneumatic can crusher

Also have this badboy I have to get installed soon. Have all the exhaust parts, just need to get my gasline ran from my basement into the garage.
