Project Bronco2 !!

Well you talkabout good timing!

Took my B2 out for a day of wheeling and I pushed it a little harder than I have before and it looks like I may have done damage to the stock d35 finally.
You see pix from that day here...
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...-orv-park.html

Truck is still covered in mud but it looks as if the axle beams bent or cracked.
That all happened on Saturday.I was bummed all the way home.....

....until I got online and found the deal of the year.Sunday morn I made some calls, struck a deal and hit the road in the afternoon. I drove 300 miles round trip to pick this up.

74 EB d44,new Yukon 4.56 gears,Warn hubs, new joints, new wheel bearings, new calipers,Earls stainless brake hoses, radius arms,Rancho shocks,Deaver 5.5" coils, steering and a adjustable track bar.Everything is clean and in perfect shape. One tank of gas and 500.00 later it was home in my garage!

Now Im starting a project thread for this in hopes to getting as much input from you other SAS guys as possible. This whole setup came out of a 91 Explorer so if I want I could have this under the B2 in a weekend pretty easy, which I may do for now, but I really want to just do coilovers but have never really looked into them before.

Please shoot me some tips, tricks, ideas or any other opinions on this project!
I dont wanna see this anymore!!

What are you looking to run?

12? 14? 16?

If i was looking i would be scouring pirate for a set of 14s. Those guys are always selling stuff. I found a set of triple rate sway away racerunners 16" for 580 shipped!!! You cant beat that anywhere.

Plus most of them come with coils and you can atleast get a base on what you want to run. If you get some numbers on what you are looking for i will figure the spring rate for you.

Honestly I have gave very little thought towards this so far...I have only had the axle since sunday! But after looking at the Ex it came out of and looking at my truck it just seems the c/o would be so much simpler and better.
As of now I have no idea what kind of travel thissetup will net me nor do I even know what this truck weighs. Im not even sure if im using these radius arms either,I might go longer.

go longer... those need tossed in a lathe turned down then some good 2" .25 wall DOM welded on it with a 3" JJ from ballistic. It will flex really well then and it is fairly cheap.

id go 8-10 inches longer myself.

id run 14" coilovers with like 4 inches of up travel and the rest down. that should keep you fairly low and give you plenty of flex. Then if you were to head up to the dunes or some high speed stuff adjust the coilovers for more up travel.

you will need some hoops bent but i know someone with a bender if you need it.

Thats almost exactly what I was thinking for the arms!

My truck has that James Duff dual shock hoop already and I want to see if its possible to just use that for a c/o mount. They are bolted to the frame so I would just weld em to the frame to be safe but other than that they look like I could raise them a couple inches and be good. I will go get some pix later.

Obviously I would pull them off, sandblast them, inspect and then weld some plates to where they used to bolt to the frame and them weld plates to frame to spread load out better. Then add a brace from center of hoop to top of frame rail and maybe even tie them together with a removable loop over the motor.?.

those hoops would probably work but they wont be high enough. a 14" shock is 26" long with 5" of up travel

so you would need about that much room between the hoop and the axle.

Thank you Mr. Stone!!!

Ok I think I scored tonite.

I picked up a set of King coilovers that are brand new and have never been bolted to a truck! 12" with 350/250lb springs. Very cool guy up in Warren had em and I got em for 400.00! There has to be at least a 1000.00 into these.
