More teardown this weekend. Had to spend time with the Family and take another test, but still able to get farther.-
Everything disconnected and ready to part with its tired and worn out frame.-
then I was able to remove the exhaust, pull the cases and trans, and begin removal of the rock sliders. WHICH WILL BE UP FOR SALE.-
So after another weekend, here is how D sits as of right now. Pretty sad, but once things start going back together, it's going to be nothing but smiles

Last night I wanted to get the frame cleaned up. I only have about an hour after I get off to work on it, so not much has been accomplished.-
I did manage to get the frame down to the body shop where I could pressure wash everything.-
I tried moving the frame around with Lil Red. Yeah... That didn't happen. All I did was spin. So after wasting about 20 minutes, I just went and got SGT Ex and winched the frame around.-
Team work...

I did. I drive it everyday!
I did get all the wiring out, fuel lines out, tank out, sliders lopped off and old brackets cut off. I'll he out of town this weekend so moving the rear end back will come next weekend. Hoping to get the frame junk finished next weekend so I can put the cab on and start building again

I was thinking about seeing if you needed any help this weekend but I saw you were gonna be gone. next weekend though I may be able to help, and actually all that next week is spring break for me (not this upcoming week, but the next). So I bet I could make it out sometime.
you been doing most of this on your own?

Yep. Dad helps when he has time. Like last night he lopped off the arms while I was cutting brackets and the old air tank plates. He is swamped with the body shop, so I really only ask for his help when I need another hand such as removing the body mount bolts.
Anytime you wanna come down and help, I'd sure appreciate it!

As you guys know, I had moved the rear axle forward to try and shorten my wheel base. Well, this caused the rear shackle to be almost 90* which made the truck ride horrible. Not to mention it looked retarded... Example...
I also test fit the bed to make sure I marked my centerline, then centered the rear, and moved the spring hanger. Drilled new holes, and grade 8ed it up.
I welded up all the extra holes in the frame, Then decided to grind down the remainder of the rock sliders all the way. The plasma broke out and I removed all the old brackets and a little more...
After everything was ground smooth, shot some filler primer over the whole frame and painted it semigloss black.

I began putting the trucks together today, and of course this is where things got fun.-
I removed all the wiring and fuel lines from the 01 frame, and fitted them all to the 94. Next up was the fuel tank and where things went sour.-
The two crossmembers that hold the fuel tank are completely different on the two frames. So I was torn between jerry-rigging it or swapping the 01s over. I chose the later.-
Here you can see the difference in the main crossmember that goes over the back
The front has a riveted bracket on the 94, but bolt on bracket for 01.-
So I broke the plasma back out and started cutting things out. I pulled all the body mounts, the shock towers, and both crossmembers from the 01. Brought the 94 frame down, and cut the riveted bracket and old crossmember out after I removed all the wiring and fuel lines I just put in earlier today.-
So 1 step forward, 2 back. So as of now, the new crossmember is sitting in the frame, waiting to be welded in. Tomorrow will likely be cleaning up from the plasma, and I will weld the new crossmember in likely Wednesday
