Yes, the 3-ho is flex fuel. I have heard there is only 1 gas station in Lexington with E85. If I can find it, I'm going to run it. As far as "new rig" goes, this was the beginning of my madness. I beat the **** out of it on the west coast, and when I moved back east, I bought a new wheeling rig (SGT Ex) and this one is back to the DD status. Will be used about like Steel's truck.
P.S. Man that's a crazy teardown. :-D This looks like it is going to be a great build to watch the progress on. Can't wait. Good luck.

Tell me about it.... It will be worth it in the end though. I want a dependable 4x4 ranger that looks bad *** and will be able to be a truck again, not a toy. Right now I always worried about **** breaking, or stuff not working, and all that crap. I have 3 other toys I worry about all the time. I need this one and the red one to be dependable

Just my opinion the 3.0/Gas has enough power to move my truck in OEM condition but once the lift, tires and rim were added it started to lack power (expected).
Once the new bumper(s) and winch are on, not sure where this will go but there is always a gear change.
Once you do all of the chgs, will the little engine have what it takes to even get good mileage ?
Good luck with it, hope it turns out the way you expect it to, looking good so far.

Try the 4.56s/35” before doing any changes, if you need more power then consider the lower gears, 4.88/5.13s...
My 4.10/33” setup is just a little too low on power, especially on hills, something in the 4.30 range would do BUT to get the little extra oomph 4.56s seem the right place.

4.56 is what we put in the 2wd edge that I lifted on 33's and it was PERFECT.
I knew the 35/4.56 combo set you back to stock with the 4.0/5speed, just didn't know if it did with the 3/auto.
I will be keeping the gearing for now. I want to use up all the tread on these Gangsta rims before going with a different setup. (the freaking adapters cost me 400 bucks!) with my current setup, which is the equivelant to a 33x12.50 (which measure just over 32" in reality), it's too low. So if I go with a metric tire around 34", I think it will even out nicely. Only 1 way to find out for sure though....
Thanks for the info brother. What mileage are you getting now? My 2wd 3.0 is averaging about 26 mpg

D is now in the shop for teardown. i didn't have any help this weekend, so not as much work was done.
Here is with the bed removed
Front clip is off and that was the first day
Second day was disconnecting everything getting it ready for the cab to come off.
Also cut the ears off the engine cage to help remove the cab. Since there will never be a cage in this truck, no need for the ears.
Removed everything out of the interior, and now the VIAIR system will go into the Ex. All that is needed is the body bolts removed and the cab is ready to come off.
Next weekend the yellow cab comes off, and the tan goes on. Also moving the axle back to where it sits center in the wheel well. The ride of the truck is horrible with the angle of the rear shackle. Planning to use a degree finder on the stock rear leaf spring angle, and hoping to match the angle on this truck

I think added to the license plate and tail lamps you would just need mud flaps. That's all I needed with my dodge. That think kinda looked like yours...it had the front end still on it though. hahaha
