I twisted 2 shafts in half and have drug them many times. I will be running high angle driveshaft in the rear of this one for the v8.

I have heard that a couple of times now. I might snag a longer steel shaft from a larger truck and get it cut to fit the ranger just in case. I have done pretty good with my XJ which is even lower, but it has a much shorter rear shaft (1/3 the length at best).

Oh yea. You could do like I did before, have one for driving on the road, one for the trails. The trail one sleeved with DOM though. I didn't do this, which is why I recommend it now. The Explorer is running sleeved DOM and it takes an *** whoopin

Not really an update. Just ordered some new flares. Found a full set on eBay for 200 bucks shipped. You can't even buy 1 pair for that price unshipped.-

Been building the bumper for the rear. Check out the "Steel Bumpers" thread.

Other than that, not much. I did get some 06 mirrors and an explorer center console for the ol girl, but she is still sitting waiting her turn.

I've been working on my DD and my 68 recently.

Long update... Haven't really done anything but stare at the ol gal. Parts are starting to pile in the bed though. I have my custom rear bumper made by Steel, exploder console, 06+ mirrors, new bearings and seals for the axles, interior pieces, steering parts, and more. We are trying to buy a house right now so all the real updates to this have been postponed until after, but trust me, you guys won't be disappointed in the end product

Well, D offered up its front axle to make room for the Ex's front axle.-

Been a couple of months... The truck is still sitting in its same spot, but not for much longer. Once I get the axle out of the Explorer, D will be coming to Lexington. I have a few things to fix on the 1 ton before i can haul my baby home, but the time is coming, and coming fast.

The plan is still pretty much the same. Decided a 4BT with a 47RH is going to be the power plant/trans. I have a lot of work to do on the truck that doesn't require the engine, so I am going to take care of that while I am building my savings back up from the house. I'll use either 2nd gen dodge motor mounts, or step van mounts. Both axles from the explorer will be going in the ranger, and I am going to redo the radius arms. I'll bring this ol gal home in about a month.

VE. Cheaper, and i am not looking for a giant powerhouse or anything, just an efficient mechanical diesel.

a lot easier to find as well. plan on running it stock or throw a few mods at it? you can get pretty decent power fairly cheap with a ve.

fuel pin, a gsk, upgraded turbo, and some good tuning is supposed to give around 200 ish maybe 250 with injectors. not bad considering torque would be 450 or more. then you could use the ranger as a tow pig. im definitely looking forward to this. made any progress lately?
