STX Build aka Mr. Hyde

Alright its been a few years since ive been on here forgot how much fun it is lol. Picked up well hauled out in reality a dime out of the woods a couple months back after succesfully killing my old ranger 2wd 4 banger , Found this on my Dads property and love took control. 1992 STX 4X4 4.0 auto. Anyway this is just the start of the project will take awhile due to a job change money is tight for a little bit even though the job was for alot more money. So its not anything special yet but more to come I promise you all a sinister rig before its all said and done.

This is my buddy finishing cleaning up all the woods off the truck. Took a few beers to get that pressure washer in his hands.

Interior is pretty decent for a 92 took the dash off to replace the 4x4 switch and broke every dand clip new ones arent cheap either.

I always have loved this body style anyone know why they only made it for a couple years??

Here are the tires I purchased earlier today 31 10.5 r15 will load pictures after the mount and alignment tmrw. Hopefully it wont look so dinky after the tire change.

Bought them from walmart Goodyear Authority I know I know but they were so cheap and sexy at the same time I didnt think that was possible when it came to women I mean tires. Heard some good and some bad about them through research so I will be doing monthly updates on the tires life as well just in case yall are interested in the cheaper alternatives. I do want some km2s though . You can tell how long the truck has been sitting from the tires that are currently on it Winner ATS was gonna just get a couple more but the company no longer exists... so here we go gonna build a rock crawler miss my old one but it was just to bulky hard to maneuver in the woods

Heres the jeep you are missed

I also couldnt stand being rained on I live in Alabama so mud riding is big down here so I bought that which was loaded with goodies from lockers to on board air compressor but I soon realized that while my buddies were trying to get through a mud hole I had far more fun scaring the poop out of myself going up hills that I had no business being on. Therefore I found myself wanting something smaller with power and a cab but the plan is to get that skeleton look back but keep the ran off my brow.

Pretty good looking truck for a start of a nice project.

I also LOVE that Jeep. I had an 87 Grand Wagoneer as my first vehicle. I also installed the Gladiator grill. Wanted to turn it into the Jeep you turned yours into, but being in High School I needed a vehicle that was a little nicer on the wallet.

Alright got the tires on the truck and went to have it aligned of course they told me I needed ball joints tie rods and camber bushings worth a try though lol so I pulled the truck apart completely... tonight. I must say this is the worst vehicle to change ball joints on everything must come off and none of it is easy to get to.

Heres the truck before I pulled it apart

I will be painting the rims black very soon so no worries.
You can tell in this picture that the toe is off

Also found the worst set of rotors someone neglected this truck which is a shame

Everything will be done by Friday afternoon I dont have a choice gotta be in Birmingham for the job going to the Motorcross race at Barbers Motorsports?? I have a great job lol So I will post up pics of the suspension overhaul either tmrw or Friday. I hate replacing wear items so monotonous.

Also if anyone is wondering this is the goal for the look of the truck

Got most of the suspension work done today on both sides of the truck just have to put in the new tie rods and the drag link tomorrow before work then i will trailer it to the alignment shop hopefully everything goes well never had any luck with alignments. Anyway here are the pics.

All tore apart

I HATE these spindle nuts they have a key that is the devil after trying to get them out for a couple hours i just decided to go get new ones and out came the air tools!!

Starting to come back together

I went ahead and got the camber bushings that allowed for a couple more degrees of toe from Bronco Graveyard not cheap at all hopefully it was the right decesion has a four inch lift with no drop pitman arms so I think I was right in buying the bushings.

And here is the final result all cleaned up and shiny
