BA99ranger 01-31-2014 03:47 AM

Y-Block in the background ?
What's that for ?

BA99ranger 02-01-2014 05:19 PM

the one on the frame? IT is a old truck frame, its grandpas don't know what hes going to do with it. actually I don't know why he bought it he has enough projects lol

BA99ranger 02-01-2014 05:47 PM

if I remember right it used to have a 50s f1 unibody (the ones where box and cab are all one) truck sitting on it. its like a 272 or something like that

00GreenRanger 02-01-2014 06:17 PM

Looks good so far. Nice work man

BA99ranger 02-01-2014 06:24 PM

Love the Ford blue block and ladder frame... Also how was the diff rebuild?

BA99ranger 02-02-2014 05:59 AM

Gotta have a ford blue block :D!!! The rear was from a 99 explorer i used both front and rear. Rear was disk brake 4.10 trac-loc. cleaned it up the best i could then did the 3 step process with por-15. Also had to move perches to opposite side and make new shock tabs. For the center I removed old clutches and replaced with ford racing carbon fiber clutch packs, much thicker and bigger s-spring. Absolute pita to get the s spring back in. Brakes are from r1 concepts out of california have their rotors and pads on all 4 wheels, love them 12 k on them and they are still smooth as ever. Rear came out really well im running 33s and can spin both tires on any surface

01RangerEdge 02-02-2014 07:57 AM

If I were going supercharged I would probably go with Modbox. Their kit looks much better than the RP caster kit.

Looks good so far.

Any particular reason you didn't seek out a 5.0 Explorer?

BA99ranger 02-02-2014 08:05 AM

Rp caster is much cheaper im not too worried about being 100 percent bolt on i just need the intake really. I got that red explorer through work for 200 bucks bought it just for the rear and somehow that tturned into complete engine rebuild, and now i just want to be different make a ripper v-6 something you dont see every day. Already have a well built 351 in the mustang sooo v6 build it is

wingman358 02-02-2014 10:41 AM

Saw the Mustang in the background of one of your pics.. that thing is SWEET. You should post up a few pix of that, perhaps in a different thread, and link us here. Especially if you have any from the build of it.. I'm definitely going to be doing something like that in the future.

And was the Exploder front axle a direct bolt-on or did you have to do some mods like the rear?

Maybe a '54 55 range, actually an f100.

As far as too many project, no such thing, you always need something to move on to.

BA99ranger 02-02-2014 11:15 AM

the explorer front was direct bolt in, I used my original cv shafts my thought being ranger shafts had way less wear since the explorer was awd.
mustang was about 5 year restoration ill just put some pics up on here
it was a junk 6cyl coupe completely rotted out and just became a project for me and grandpa.
