A Man, His Truck, and One Ambitious Adventure!
I have always enjoyed long road trips and I have always wanted to visit Alaska one day. Well next year I am planning on driving to Alaska in my truck! This build thread will show everything I do to my Ranger to prepare it for the trip.
The Truck: 2002 Ford Ranger Edge Extended Cab 4.0L V6 4x4 w/ 4.10 gears and 128,xxx miles The mods to my truck as it sits now: 4 130watt KC slimlites HID head and fog lights K&N air filter Airaid throttle body spacer SCT tune Flowmaster Dual exhaust 2 10" MTX thunderform subs in a ranger specific box 4 alpine door speakers Sony head unit 1" Body lift Belltech 6400 shackles cranked torsion bars bilstein 5150 shocks (had to swap in moog upper control arms to fit) 31 spline ford 8.8 axle with disc brake swapped in Tonneau Cover Reese trailer hitch receiver LED third brake light EBC Brake pads Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs 285/75/R16 Optima Yellow top battery Planned Upgrades: Superlift 4" Lift Superlift Driveshaft Skyjacker 6" Leafs G2 Diff cover Better front rotors and pads SS braided front brake lines Camper Shell Roof Rack CB radio Navigation spare tire mount Winch More lights The trip will be around 20,000 miles and take a few months to complete.
