yea i had issues with my last stuff wanting to shrink in the cold and deform, but this trim has glue already inserted into it and sticks where i press it on. hope it holds up! yea the shell came with me to SLO mainly for security of having lockable storage. it might come off next time im in sac. the other thing i have to consider is that the weight of the shell works alot better with the valving in the rear shocks.

another quick bump..
got some testing in for the front end in Pismo with a group of friends. she handled it great and i cant wait to get the 2.0s on up front. drew up some designs for the brackets a few days ago. just need to go cut em out.
got the dust light mounted and wired.
replaced the lower ball joints yesterday because the ones pressed into the partsgeek.com replacement arms, dont have ribbing to keep them pressed into the arm. they became super loose and sketch to drive on. replaced them with ones fitted with zerks.
loose partsgeek ball joints - YouTube
and just for ***** and giggles.. she looked hawt on valentines day.. gf did too.. shes seen here blocking the truck pic i tried to take.

bump
drooped it out at school a few weeks ago.
decided to throw a few pictures of my trailer in here since its probably going to follow me on a few camping trips this summer. its a 1953 m-100 jeep trailer. towed it to sac from SLO as it sat (cracked tires, sketch wiring), and it did ok. tore it all down, redid all the bearings (couldnt find replacements, but they were timkens and they looked to be in good shape so they were repacked and put back in.), and got some new wheels and tires for it. also installed all brand new wiring and lights.
when i got it.
now
i plan on cutting off the tall sides as they arent original. ill make new ones that are removable. probably gonna paint it at some point.
trading my 16s for 14s to see if theyll cycle better with more bump travel. also getting my tax check tomorrow, thatll get put towads a few unspoken upgrades. thats all for now.

went over to a buddies house to try and get a new tire gate frame built. we didnt end up starting it but brainstormed alot on how to make it strong enough for real offroad abuse, and feel we have a pretty good game plan. im liking the centered look over anything offset so thats how itll be set up. hopefully with a spot for my gas can, and some backup lights.

and the money shot..
handled it all like a champ. i traded my 16s for some foa 14s from justin on sunday evening, this gives him the droop he needs with his cage and the bump travel i need for mine, perfect win win for both of us. ill be disassembling them this weekend hopefully to swap on my 90 degree resis and check all of the internals.

catching these pics up because they werent on RF:
new spec stage 2 clutch, new main seal, trans seal, new front calipers, other odds and ends im forgetting.
time for another pic update:
i last left off in the middle of my clutch swap. i had been driving from SLO to sac to work on the truck during the weekends. the SPEC stage 2 has been in for about 2 months now and im very pleased. driving it back to SLO
right to my new house, took alot of work to get everything the way we wanted it, but my buddy wes and i are really happy here.
tearing down the bronco 8.8:
shell came off, because summer time
randoms:
picked up more seats i probably wont like. ill install them just to see, then probably sell them. :)
4th of july wheeling/camping trip at gold lake. truck got to play rock crawler all weekend and didnt skip a beat.
oh well they were nice for awhile lol
back to SLO
added more LEDs, reverse lights.
OHC
got an ultraguage and made a mount for it on the a pillar
more to follow! haha

a few weeks back i detailed the truck for the first time in about a year and a half. its crazy how the truck used to be babied and waxed every wash.
started working on my 2.0 conversion brackets.
opened up my 14in FOAs to install new resis with 90 degree swivels. much better for mounting them.
whole bunch of parts for my rebuild. brake calipers, wheel bearings, steering rack, steering pump, clutch, pressure plate, main seal, trans front seal, flywheel, starter, camshaft synchro, cam sensor, clutch slave cylinder, and i made some cork gaskets for the hurst shifter.
pics from dropping the trans, etc.
so im only $120 into my 8.8 build and i have brand new richmond 4.56 gears for it, brand new ruffstuff perches, 5/8 u-bolts, ruffstuff spring perches/tabbed, and can use the 3/8 diff cover from my current 8.8. i will try to get to a pick n pull in a few weekends and snag all the explorer disk brake gear (memorial day weekend is half off). after that ill only need to have the shafts redrilled and turned down, and install the gears.

picture update:
Roasted an outter bearing on I5 coming home
i was worried about the integrity of the snout since the inner race had gotten so hot. so i replaced the snout.
cleaned up for paint
a member happened to be selling ebc rotors he'd ordered in the wrong size, so i got a great deal on rotors which i needed at the time.
