1987 F250 Ranger

hey hows it goin everyone im brand new to this forum site im on another 4x4 site but figured i should post up in a ranger site so here i am and heres what i got all input and ideas are welcome speak your mind

the project: 1987 ford ranger 2.9 v6 4x4 converted to 1987 F250 Ranger w/bb 460 4x4

so started out buyin a ranger cuz i wanted a 4x4 rig and iv owned three others and loved em to death and they never let me down but i wanted to kick up the power a notch my dad where sittin thinkin how to get a 460 in this ranger then we decided to just get f250 chasis and mold the ranger body to that so it will have all stong enough parts for 460 so for 200 bucks i scored a 85 f250 with a dana 50 ttb front end and a dana 70 rear with factory limited slip then from a buddy i got a 1993 460 crate motor with 20k on it for 500 and heres where i site now lets hear some input good or bad

Nice work, interesting for sure.

One thing though, get rid of that TTB front end. Dana 60's practicly bolt right into those rigs.

thx and yes it will be going away later on goal for now get running and driving then start moddin

thx everyone cant wait for finish just need trans radiator fluids wireing and it will come to life

no nothing up close we butted the frame together and then took 1/4 steel plate about 7x8in approx. piece welded it to the outside then used the piece that we cut out and welded to the inside box the frame

ehh idk I'm pretty sure I see leafs on the front of that thing.

those trucks came with leaf ttb, the leaf d60 is a straight forward swap

weird, guess I've never seen that. just thought they always had coils. so yeah simple bolt in 60 swap indeed

to answer yes it does have leafs in the front anyways got motor and trans in today couldnt use factory mounting location cuz it put the motor to far back so instead motor mounts are sitting on the crossmember will weld some flatbar to meet motor mounts to crossmember with the body lift on the truck it sure makes that big 460 look small lol anyways motor and trans are in and sittin on there own!!

sweet project! that's a hole lot of frame to remove...looks like it'll be a great rig tho!
