Gauges came installed. Will eventually put white faced Explorer gauges and get rid of the flames. I put the blue loom on because I was bored... engine bay too plain... and I'm still a kid...

Update for today

This morning dealer was paying, so I put truck in shop for charging system issues. Cost THEM 70.77 because I didn't wanna mess with a new truck very much. Turned out to be a regulator fuse. 30A but do not know where it was.

Then, at 3pm I had my appt for my local Ford dealership. changed the wiper arm/multifunction switch. FREE!! Recall was on 99-00 Ranger that was built in a few cities like the twin cities. About 188 total parts cost. Whatever it was was causing the wipers to go off at random times... Fun to watch but it got annoying quick. Although, it did start some conversations when they were needed.

I'm not too fond of the gauges or loom but it's all good. The gauges you had no choice...got stuck with 'em. lol. I like the name...."The Last Step". It's sort of a oxymoronish name which makes it sorta funny. While it may be the last step you finally purchased, oh no, it's the first step to emptying that wallet for mods!! lol.

Keep the updating coming....good progress.

Wirelessly posted

The loom will most likely come off. The gauges... I'm taking donations of white or silver faced stock gauges that I could to blue glow with.

Yeah the name was an interesting choice. My wife came home one night and said "I'm done with these old p.o.s. trucks, let's get you a new one." I automatically knew I wanted a '98-'00 ex cab steppie.

We looked at probably 12 steppies, some were auto, some 2wd, some with 4 cyl, some I couldn't get financed. I gave up and started looking used for an earlier year.

I came across this one and it was the easiest vehicle I ever bought. The last step being the last steppie I looked at and the last truck I looked at. Yay!

Very good Tim. I happen to have a white faced explorer cluster available. Shoot me a PM. I haven't yet posted up a classified ad for it yet.

Well, Blew the right rear and rode on rim for 2 blocks. Luckily, it was more of a flat and the tire was under the wheel taking the abuse not the rim itself.

That means new tires tomorrow!!! Les Schwab Wildcat Radial A/T (31x10.50). Had these on my old Explorer and LOVED them. Good grip in the rain, decent 4wd traction for off road, and last forever. They have a 50k warranty on them for anything to happen to them. Any reviews?

Then on Sunday, I meet up with Swickwake in California, to get a tonneau cover for by bed. Anyone know if a Wal*Mart rattle can blue will somewhat match my Atlantic Blue Metallic?

It is a 97 valance, but looking at the bolt patterns and shape, it looks to be the same. I'll have to check it out and let you know. Valance was only 5 bucks though...
