2010 Ranger Sport 4x4 Refresh

Hey Guys been a long time lurker with my older 1999 Ranger and found this site to be a great resource. I finally upgraded that truck into a 2010 and I going to be doing some minor upgrades here and I will put up pictures as i go...

Mod 1: BackRack - sourced via Kijiji
Mod 2: Delta Tool Box - sourced via Kijiji
Mod 3: Wheel/Tire Upgrade (if I have the money)

I've decided to not do a lift for now and squeeze a little taller rubber under it.

My wheels are stock and the rubber is still the stock Wranger RT/S which were a little underwhelming last winter.

I went through some mods with my Escape a few years ago and had a lot of fun with it. Ended up pretty happy with the results if anyone is interested you can check it out here:
Escape City - Ford Escape Forums - Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Mazda Tribute, Ford Maverick - View topic - Budget 2008 Escape Refresh Project

Thanks for stopping by to have a peak.

Looks good! Pretty clean truck. It would look way better with some new wheels and tires though

Clean truck! Look into the Pre-Key swap....it uses a 98-07 torsion bar key and will give you about a 1.5"-2" lift with the same torsion key pre-load. In 08, Ford changed the keys to clock then enough to lower the truck a full 1.5"-2" as well as a shorter rear lift block down an inch compared to previous 4x4 years. So if you install the stock 98-07 keys, you'll get 1.5-2" PLUS the available common torsion crank many do to the tune of 1.5-2". You could see 4" lift from this!

Best of luck with mods and what not.....toss Pre-Keys under it and bring her back up to spec! 32x11.50's or 33x10.50's max if you pre-key it.

Wow thanks for that info I wasn't aware of that.

I managed to source some Wheels and Tires today on kijiji

Wheels: Ion Alloy 174's
Tires: Goodyear Duratrac 245/75/16's

Not much bigger at all (doens't even require a speedo change) but the set is perfect for what I was looking for and almost brand new.

Work Competed

Alright I got everything installed and got er washed and took some pictures today. Happy with the results.

BackRack Install was probably the toughest part as I bought it 2nd hand and it didn't have instuctions but pretty easy to figure out.

Also I ended up with a DeeZee Toolbox - not the Delta as originally planned but this one was in great shape and cheaper.

Looks pretty good. I would have gone with a low profile toolbox. I'd also tint the windows and put an exhaust on.

The Low Profile tool boxs are very nice but I couldn't find one in my price range - This one is easy to enough to remove and visability isn't bad for me since I'm tall.

Nova Scotia has some ancient laws on tinting - it's pretty much factory installed only.

I've thought about the exhaust but haven't really heard any on the v6 that made me want to yet...got any vid's or sounds of your Flo-Pro?

Those are the backrack mounts. Look like the ones made for use without a toolbox. They make ones for use with a toolbox so it's not up like that though.

Those are the Tool Box Brackets made for the backrack. These connect to the backrack and the toolbox mounts to the brackets. Easy to get your hand into to remove the box. It is up higher.

Thank you. I had access to a custom bender at the shop i worked at. 2 1/4 tails and tips. Just a simple cat back system. Not loud but louder then stock.

Well that sucks... I never had an issue with this setup....with nice tight easy installation.

Nice. I think it's to prevent drilling into the Box. Not a big deal to me but I got them included on the deal so I installed them.

Nice looking rigs in this thread.

I like my Flo Pro. Its just a cat back, single in, dual out setup but imo sounds great. Plus its different then the standard Flomaster or Magnaflow.

And tint is a must. Not sure how strict they are where you live, but legal limit is 27% here in Colorado. I run 10% and had 5% on my Bronco...never had an issue. Tint is legit one of the best mods i've ever done. Won't drive a vehicle without it now.

Silver FTW

Tips exiting out the back...I couldn't decide if I wanted them exiting at a 45 degree behind the rear tires or straight out. Thinking about changing it up.

Couple vids...
