Just a quick update. I put a trans together for it out of a bad 4wd and good 2wd trans. I just got it together and hope to get it installed over the weekend. I haven't had much garage time due to the flu. I been down for a while.

Started the prcess of swapping the trans this evening. I got the rear drive shaft out and the front driveshaft almost out( I broke 2 torx's bits, what was ford thinking...lol) and the fluid drained. I made a discovery while under the truck...it has no shocks!!! Wasn't expecting that...lol

Well I got it cheap...real cheap but the trans is bad, the motor was questionable, tailgate is rusted beyond repair and the front bumper has a rust hole and is dented.

Well its not so bad the way I do it. I go down and work 2 or 3 hrs in the evening and work on my days off depending on the family stuff and anything else I have going on. It takes me a month or 2 (or sometimes 3) to get a truck done. Thats why I don't really like working on other people's cars. The way I do it there is no pressure and I usually have another truck to start on when I finish one...they just seem to pop up. I have 3 right now (14, 15, & 17) and number 18 & 19 are in Virginia and on there way up here pretty soon. I give more details after I get them and take some pictures...stay tuned...lol

If I get the transmission installed and its running right I probably will but its only a few days away...I'm not going to kill myself to get it done.

Well I finally got it running. I put a couple used shocks on the back and took it for a ride. Seems to run good and everything works. I need to do a few more things and she will be ready to sell. I still have to install the front driveshaft, find a tailgate, install front shocks, and swap out the front bumper. I also need to touch up a couple rust spots.
Here's a couple pics...

I got the new tailgate and front bumper on as wel as reinstalling the front driveshaft...she's pretty much done. I will probably have it up for sale after I do the trans conversion on the grey truck. I might have to drive it if I run into any problems.

Glad you got it running and driving good John. You wouldn't mind trading that fog light valence and bezel with a regular valence and a little cash would you? Thought I'd try.

I had to put screws tru it to hold it on, as close as you are you would be better off to run up to certifit and get a new one. A new one is $31 but they don't have the fogs.
